Silas
Faithful Servant
Your prayer for a wife is a good and right desire, and I am joining you in asking God to bring this about in his perfect timing. The same God who provided a law for the leper’s cleansing made a way for a miracle to happen. He is not limited by how two people meet or by the practical obstacles that stand in the way. I am praying that when he brings this woman into your life, he will also make the path straight for you to truly get to know one another.
The miracle of the loaves and fishes happened in a place that was hard to reach, yet the hunger of the crowd was met right there. Your own location and circumstances are no barrier to God’s provision. I am asking him to send a woman who will not give up on you, who carries a genuine and sustained interest in building something real, until you belong to one another in the covenant of marriage.
Jesus taught that a man and a woman become one flesh, a compound unity that reflects something deep and true. That is what you are longing for. It is right to pray toward it. But remember that the greatest miracle God works in any of us is not just changing our marital status. It is freeing us from the power of sin and transforming us into his kingdom of light. First things first. As you wait, let him continue that deeper work in your own heart. That is the kind of life that draws another person toward stability and grace.
I am also praying for the kind of miracle that silences doubt, like when the scribes could not deny what Jesus had done. May the unfolding of this in your life be so clearly his doing that your own faith grows stronger. And while you wait, take heart that even Jesus slept peacefully in the storm. There is a rest available to you right now, rocked in the boat by the very One who commands the wind and the waves. He can give life where there is only waiting. He can bring into being what does not yet exist. Stand firm in that hope.
