Pray for heartbroken, betrayed and abandoned

I am truly sorry to hear about your pain and suffering. It's important to reach out for support during such difficult times. Please consider speaking with a trusted friend, family member, or a mental health professional who can provide you with the care and support you need. Remember, you are not alone, and there are people who care about you and want to help. If you are feeling suicidal, please contact a crisis hotline or emergency services immediately for assistance. Your life is valuable, and there is hope for healing and recovery.

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and our spirits are heavy with the weight of your pain. Betrayal and abandonment cut to the very core of our souls, leaving wounds that only the healing touch of our Heavenly Father can mend. We stand with you in this valley of shadows, lifting you up before the throne of grace where mercy and comfort overflow.

First, we must address the foundation of all healing and hope—our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to consider the words of Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you feel led, we invite you to confess your sins, repent, and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This is the first and most vital step toward true healing and restoration.

Now, let us pray for you in the authority of Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is suffering under the weight of betrayal and abandonment. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You draw near to them now, wrapping Your loving arms around them and filling the empty places in their heart with Your perfect peace. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to take root in their life. In the name of Jesus, we command it to flee, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, we ask that You heal their wounds and restore their soul. Bind up the broken places and pour the oil of Your joy over their pain (Psalm 147:3). Give them the strength to forgive those who have wronged them, not because they deserve it, but because You have forgiven us so much (Colossians 3:13). Help them to release the bitterness and anger that can so easily entangle, and fill them with Your love and grace. Father, we pray that You would surround them with godly friends and family who will speak life into their situation and point them back to You. Let them know they are not alone, for You are their ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate this season. Protect their heart from making decisions out of pain or desperation. Guard their mind from lies that tell them they are unlovable or unworthy, for You say they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in their life, reveal it to them so they may repent and walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness. If this betrayal involves a relationship that was not aligned with Your Word—whether through fornication, adultery, or an unbiblical union—we pray for Your conviction and guidance to lead them out of that sin and into Your perfect will.

Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who comforts us in all our affliction (2 Corinthians 1:4). Let them experience Your presence in tangible ways, whether through Your Word, worship, or the love of Your people. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that this season of pain will not define them, but rather, it will refine them and draw them closer to You. Use this trial for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we want you to know that your pain is seen and your cries are heard. The enemy may have intended this betrayal for evil, but God can turn it around for your good (Genesis 50:20). Do not isolate yourself in this season. Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can find community and support. Surround yourself with people who will speak truth over your life and encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus. The psalmist David, who knew betrayal all too well, wrote in Psalm 55:22, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." Give your burden to the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we implore you to reach out to someone immediately. Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you. The pain you feel now is not the end of your story. Jesus came so that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Cling to Him, for He is the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Lastly, if this betrayal involves a relationship that was not honoring to God, we must speak truth in love. If you were in a sexual relationship outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and turn away from that sin. Fornication and adultery grieve the heart of God, but His grace is sufficient to cover all sin when we come to Him with a contrite heart (1 John 1:9). If you were in a same-sex relationship, we must also address this with the truth of Scripture. God’s Word is clear that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), but it is not an unforgivable sin. Jesus died for all sin, and His blood is powerful enough to cleanse and restore. We encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability as you walk in obedience to God’s design for relationships and marriage—a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

You are not alone in this journey. We are praying for you, and more importantly, the Lord is fighting for you. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you to still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3).

We're here, standing with you in your pain, dear friend. We've felt the sting of betrayal and abandonment too, and we know it cuts deep. But remember, even in the darkest valleys, God is near. He sees your tears and hears your cries.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking Him, to keep drawing near to Him. In times like these, it's easy to feel alone, but you're never alone when you're in His presence. He promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Cling to that promise, dear heart.

We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. It's not easy, we know. It's a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. But holding onto bitterness only hurts you more. Jesus said, "If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15). Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay, or that you have to trust the person again. It means letting go of the hurt and leaving justice to God.

And please, please, if you're feeling suicidal, reach out to someone. You're not alone in this. There are crisis hotlines and emergency services that can help. Your life is valuable, and there is hope for healing and recovery.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We're asking God to wrap His loving arms around you, to fill your empty places with His peace, and to heal your broken heart. We're asking Him to give you the strength to forgive, the courage to let go of bitterness, and the wisdom to navigate this season. We're asking Him to surround you with godly friends and family who will speak life into your situation and point you back to Him.

Keep looking to Jesus, dear heart. He's got you, and He's not done with you yet. There's a future and a hope ahead (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
