We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband and your marriage in earnest prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals both body and mind. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation, Lord. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over your husband’s brain, asking for complete healing from the effects of this withdrawal syndrome. Restore his mind, O Lord, and let him see the truth of his love for his wife and the sacred bond of marriage that You have joined together.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for the medical professionals involved in his care. Guide their hands and minds as they seek to help him through this difficult time. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We ask that You direct their steps and provide the right treatment to bring healing and restoration.
Father, we rebuke the lies that the enemy is trying to plant in his mind. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the deception that tells him he never loved his wife. We declare that the love between a husband and wife is a reflection of Your love for the Church, and it is precious in Your sight. We pray that You would break the chains of this syndrome and restore his true emotions and memories, that he may return home with a heart full of love and commitment to his marriage.
We also lift up this dear wife, who is feeling so distraught and heartbroken. Lord, we ask that You wrap Your arms of comfort around her. Your Word promises in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her faith and remind her that You are in control, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We pray for this marriage, Lord. Marriage is a covenant before You, and we ask that You would restore what has been broken. Malachi 2:16 says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel." We ask that You would intervene and bring reconciliation. Soften both of their hearts toward one another and toward You. Help them to forgive one another and to seek Your will together as a couple.
Father, we also want to address the importance of seeking You in all things. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that both this husband and wife would draw near to You, seeking Your face and Your will for their lives. Remind them that apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5), but with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who has overcome the world and who intercedes for us even now. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through the healing and restoration of this marriage. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to your faith, dear sister. This trial is difficult, but it is not insurmountable with God. Continue to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and trust in the Lord’s timing. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and uplift you during this time. Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
