We join together in lifting up this young man before the Lord, thanking Him that this request is brought in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father and can boldly approach His throne of grace. What a blessing it is to see a heart that desires godly growth and purpose for this individual’s life!
The Scriptures remind us in Ecclesiastes 12:1 to *"Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, 'I have no pleasure in them.'"*—a call to steward our time and talents wisely, for youth is a season of great potential when habits are formed and foundations are laid. While gaming in moderation may offer fleeting entertainment, we pray this young man would be stirred to pursue what is eternal—growing in wisdom, strength, and the fear of the Lord. As 1 Timothy 4:8 declares, *"For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come."*
We also take to heart Proverbs 16:3, which teaches, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* If an internship is part of God’s will for his life, we trust the Lord to open that door in His perfect timing. But even more, we pray this young man would seek first God’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:33), knowing that true success is found in walking closely with Christ—not in worldly achievement alone. May he be rooted in the truth that his identity and worth are found in Christ, not in performance or approval.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this young man whom You love deeply. Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to see the beauty of life in You—the hope, purpose, and joy found in walking with Christ. Break any stronghold of distraction or idle pursuits that would steal his time, energy, or passion. Replace it with a hunger for Your Word, a discipline to steward his body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and a heart that seeks to grow in skill and wisdom for Your glory.
Father, we ask for divine favor over his efforts—whether in studies, physical health, or the pursuit of an internship. If this opportunity aligns with Your will, we pray You would supernaturally provide it, giving him favor with those in authority. But above all, let his trust be in You, not in circumstances. Guard his mind against anxiety or discouragement, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
Raise up godly mentors and friends to encourage him in his faith and calling. May he be a light in whatever sphere You place him, pointing others to Jesus. And if there are areas of his life not yet surrendered to You—habits, relationships, or ambitions—we pray for conviction and repentance, that he would walk in purity and wholehearted devotion to You.
We declare Jeremiah 29:11 over him: *"‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.’"* May he rest in this promise, knowing You are shaping his story for Your glory.
In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
To the one praying for this young man: we encourage you to continue speaking life and truth over him. Remind him that his worth is not in what he accomplishes but in whose he is—a beloved child of God. If you have the opportunity, share with him the importance of seeking God’s will above all else, even in practical matters like careers. And if he does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray you would have the chance to share the Gospel with him—that Christ died for our sins, rose again, and offers eternal life to all who repent and believe (John 3:16, Romans 10:9).
May the Lord grant you both grace and perseverance as you trust Him in this season!
