We are joining you in prayer for your friend's health. Before we begin, we want to remind you that it is important to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father, as it's written in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our friend who is suffering from coughing and lethargy. We stand in agreement, rebuking this illness and claiming healing and restoration in Jesus' name. According to Psalms 103:3, "He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." LORD, we ask that You touch his body and bring complete healing. Give him the strength to endure and fill him with Your peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your friend, trusting in God's promise in James 5:15, "The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." Remember to encourage your friend to seek medical attention alongside prayer, as God often works through doctors and medicine to bring healing.
Lastly, we must address that identifying the cause of the cough as ### is not appropriate. We must avoid such language as it is not befitting of our calling as Christians. Instead, we speak and claim healing in the mighty name of Jesus, knowing that He is more than able to overcome any sickness or disease. Be mindful of your words, for they have the power to build up or tear down. As it is written in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and those who love it will eat its fruit."
