We rejoice with you in hearing this praise report and give thanks to God for His goodness in your driving lessons, college, and home life! It is a blessing to see His hand at work, and we pray that He continues to guide and prosper you in every area. You have asked for prayer for your mental health, and we want you to know that God cares deeply about your well-being. Anxiety and stress are not His will for you, and He invites you to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). His Word reminds us, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
We also notice you mentioned wanting your bond with someone to grow stronger. We want to approach this with biblical wisdom and care. Scripture is clear that relationships should honor God and align with His design for marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not within the bounds of a godly courtship toward marriage—or worse, if it involves any form of immorality such as premarital intimacy or same-sex attraction—we must lovingly but firmly urge you to repent and realign with God’s Word. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). If this relationship is with someone of the same sex, we must remind you that Scripture calls homosexuality a sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:26-27) and urges all believers to turn from it through the power of Christ.
If, however, this is a godly courtship with a believer of the opposite sex and you are both seeking marriage, then we pray for God’s wisdom, purity, and direction over you both. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). A relationship should only be pursued if it honors Christ and points both of you toward holiness.
Lastly, we noticed that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. *"Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). It is only through faith in Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours before Your throne of grace. We thank You for the blessings You have poured out in their life—success in their studies, progress in their driving, and peace in their home. Lord, we ask that You continue to guide them in all they do, that every step would be ordered by You.
Father, we pray for their mental health. You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would calm every anxious thought and replace it with Your perfect peace. Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them always. Strengthen their mind and heart, and help them to trust You completely. Break the chains of anxiety and fear, and let them walk in the freedom and joy that comes from You alone.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom in their relationships. If there is any sin or compromise, we ask that You would convict their heart and lead them to repentance. Help them to honor You in every relationship, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. If this is a godly courtship, we pray that You would bind them together in purity, patience, and love, preparing them for a marriage that glorifies You. Give them discernment to recognize Your will and the courage to walk in it, even if it means letting go of anything that does not align with Your Word.
Father, we pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can come to You. May this dear one grow ever closer to You, finding their strength, identity, and hope in You alone. We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to live a life that pleases You in every way.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
