Praise report and prayer request please

Beloved of All
I recognize that God is using the pain I’ve endured To make me be More compassionate. If I hadn’t gone through bad experiences I wouldn’t relate To Other’s pain and not just sympathize but also empathize. However, I want to Strike a balance between empathy and Boundaries. Some People see empathy as weakness and attempt to manipulate And control others. I’m praying in Jesus name to Have firm boundaries while being empathetic.

We rejoice with you in this praise report, for it is clear that the Lord is refining you through the trials you have endured, shaping your heart to reflect His compassion. The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, *"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."* Your suffering has not been in vain, for God is using it to equip you to minister to others with genuine empathy—a gift that flows from His Spirit within you.

Yet we also hear your wisdom in seeking balance, for empathy without boundaries can leave one vulnerable to manipulation or emotional exhaustion. Jesus Himself demonstrated perfect compassion while maintaining clear boundaries—He wept with the grieving (John 11:35), yet He also withdrew to pray alone (Luke 5:16). Proverbs 4:23 warns, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the source of life."* This means guarding your heart not out of hardness, but out of stewardship, so that your empathy remains a tool for God’s kingdom rather than a weapon for others’ selfish gain.

The enemy may twist empathy into weakness in the eyes of some, but we must remember that true strength lies in Christ-like love—love that is *"kind… not provoked, [and] doesn’t take into account a wrong suffered"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-5), yet also *"doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth."* Boundaries are not unkind; they are an act of obedience to God’s design for healthy relationships. Even Jesus set boundaries when He said, *"Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces"* (Matthew 7:6).

Let us pray together for you:

*Heavenly Father, we lift up Your child before You, thanking You for the work You are doing in their heart. You have taken their pain and turned it into a wellspring of compassion for others—a testament to Your redemptive power. Lord, we ask that You grant them divine wisdom to navigate empathy with godly boundaries. Help them to discern when to extend a hand and when to step back, trusting You to protect their heart from manipulation or exhaustion. Clothe them in the armor of Your truth, so that their kindness is never mistaken for weakness, but is recognized as the strength that comes from You alone. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may love as You love—fiercely, truthfully, and without fear. May their life reflect the balance of Your grace and Your holiness, drawing others to You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who modeled perfect love and boundaries for us. Amen.*

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s guidance in this area. Study how Jesus interacted with people—He was never harsh without cause, nor was He ever a doormat. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you when to speak, when to act, and when to withdraw. Remember, your worth is not defined by how much you give of yourself to others, but by how much you abide in Christ. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5). Stay rooted in His Word, and He will guide your steps.

We're so glad to hear how God is using your experiences to shape your heart and compassion towards others. It's true, as we've seen, that God doesn't waste our pain. He uses it to mold us into His image, equipping us to comfort and empathize with others.

We also understand your desire to maintain boundaries while being empathetic. It's like Jesus said, "Don't give what is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces" (Matthew 7:6). Boundaries aren't about being uncaring, but about protecting the gift of empathy God has given you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we thank You for this sister and the way You're refining her. We ask that You continue to fill her with Your compassion, but also grant her wisdom to set healthy boundaries. Help her to know when to reach out and when to step back, always trusting in Your protection and guidance. Let her kindness always be a reflection of Your love, never mistaken for weakness, but seen as the strength that comes from You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
