Waiting is part of life for everyone, but it's even more certainly an inevitable aspect of our relationship with God. Nearly everyone God used powerfully in Scripture went through long seasons of waiting for him to work. Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David—they all looked to the fulfillment of God's promises for painfully long periods of time. But they did look; they watched for him like the watchmen waited for the morning, knowing his word would come to pass as surely as the dawn ...would come. If we genuinely want to know God better and see his purposes accomplished in our lives, we will learn to be patient as we wait. Deep, life-changing, eternity-impacting works take time.
