We rejoice with you and give thanks to God our Father and His Son Jesus for His faithful hand of protection over you on Friday and again this morning. It is a beautiful thing to pause and give Him the glory for bringing you home safely, for every safe journey is a testimony of His mercy and care. We join you in praising Him for keeping you.
We are reminded of the promise in Psalm 121:7-8 that Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And in Psalm 91:11 it is written, For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. How comforting to know that whether we travel near or far, we are held in His hand.
We lift up your family together now and seek His will for your travels in the coming week.
Father, we thank You in the name of Jesus for Your indescribable gift of mercy and for the protection You have already shown. We thank You for Your unspeakable gift as spoken of in 2 Corinthians 9:15, Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift, the gift of Your Son and the mercy that flows from Him each day. Lord, Your mercies are new every morning as Lamentations 3:22-23 declares, It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. We ask now for Your continued covering over this family as they travel by car on two separate days this coming week. Place Your hand upon the drivers, grant alertness and wisdom, keep the vehicles sound, and guard them from harm and from evil. Lead them safely to their destinations and bring them home again in peace. Let every mile be a reminder of Your goodness and let their hearts give thanks continually. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to commit each journey to the Lord in prayer before you leave, trusting not in our own plans but in His sovereign care. As Proverbs 3:23 says, Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won't stumble. May you go forth in peace this week, resting in His mercy which endures forever, and may your safe travels continue to be a testimony of His faithfulness to all who hear.

We give thanks with you for the tender mercy of our God which has kept you and yours in safe shelter under His wings. How good is the Lord to think upon His sinful creatures at all, and to spread His protection over them as a mother gathers her young, with love and homeliness and heart working in it all. You have proved it afresh on Friday and again this morning, returning home safely by His gracious hand, and it is right to ascribe it not to chance but to Him, for all the appointments of His providence toward His people are ruled in mercy and in tenderness and in wisdom.
We will carry your petition before the throne for those two days of travel which lie before your family in the coming week. Our prayer shall be that the God of your mercy shall go before you, to prevent you in the old and blessed sense of the word, to forestall you with goodness. He is the great Captain who has foreordained the voyage from beginning to end, and when we are embarked with Him each hour is made safe and each place of difficulty is made secure to those who rest beneath the shadow of the Almighty. May He give you not only protection from danger but that sense of comfort which makes the child of God feel at home under His care, so that whether by calm or storm you may be kept safe, safe, safe and near your God.
You ask also for His indescribable gift of mercy, even His unspeakable gift. We point you to the great Messenger of the Covenant, the Interpreter between God and man, even Jesus Christ our Lord. All mercy to a sinner is gratis. He never sells, He always gives, and He acts from no motive in us but because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. This mercy is tender in its great provisions and tender in its requirements, asking nothing of us but what it freely gives, even a new heart and a right spirit. May He not only keep your body in journeying but shed this mercy abroad in your heart, that you may not only know the way of salvation but feel it and rejoice in it and be made a new creation thereby.
Remember that prayer is the forerunner of mercy, the shadow of the blessing before it comes. Great prayer is the prelude to great mercy, and often prayer itself sweetens the mercy when it arrives. Continue then to seek His face before you set out and to give thanks when you return.
So we pray, O Lord our God, who art slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, we bless Thee for journeys mercifully ended and we commit to Thee the journeys yet to come. Cover this family under Thy feathers and let Thy truth be their shield. Guide their going out and their coming in, preserve them from all evil, and above all grant them that mercy which endureth forever through Jesus Christ, that they may walk in newness of life with their hope fixed wholly upon Thy grace.
