Good Morning Family,
“So Abram left as the Lord had told him and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.” – Genesis 12:4
It is true that timing is everything. No one simply walks into their blessing by accident, coincidence or happenstance. It can be also said that some of us will miss our blessing too because of stagnation or indecisiveness. All of us will need to make some major decisions in life but what is the process that you use? Do you throw it up against the wall and hope it sticks? Do you take the time to discern to carefully hear the Lord’s voice…?
Well, when hearing the Lord’s voice requires an intimate relationship. When you are at a crossroads one does not have time to hope it works out, we need the full assurance that it will. How do we know…?
Prompt obedience grounded in faith can govern not only your current life decision but your entire way of living. Abram left exactly when he needed to because God motioned him to do it. He was not in hesitation or debating with multiple questions. Abram realized that the time was now for him to move out and into his next destination. Yes, in order for us to move into we must move out of attitudes, mindsets and uncertainty…
The cliche is Let Go and Let God. How about Let God and Let Go so you can run on see what the end is going to be…!
“We’ve come this far by faith…leaning on the Lord trusting in His holy word…He’s never failed us yet…Can’t turn around…We’ve come this far by faith…”

Good Morning Family,
“But the earlier governors – those preceding me – placed a heavy burden on the people and took forty shekels of silver from them in addition to food and wine. But out of reverence for God I did not act like that.” – Nehemiah 5:15
What motivates you to serve? Do you have to be convinced to serve? Is compensation the influential force in your service? Is recognition part of your package for service? What is it…?
There are far too many of us who serve with stipulations. We do not serve because it is the rent we pay for space on this earth. There must be an attachment because true authentic service is a rare commodity these days. When it seems that people take advantage of being in authority or leadership positions to line their own pockets, boost their own resume or increase their own personal portfolio. Can you and I be faithful even when it appears everyone else is not…?
Nehemiah finds himself in this predicament. Officials are charging the people interest in the land and treating them rather unfairly. Nehemiah’s response is righteous indignation. He is appalled that this is taking place and that leaders should be the example in providing service. But too many have the mindset to be served instead of giving service. Our position does not preclude us from serving…
Nehemiah does the opposite from what his predecessors do because he realizes the poor example that was being displayed. The reason for this mindset is that Nehemiah fears God. Nehemiah realizes that it was God who granted him favor and that no matter what took place; God would ultimately hold him accountable. Do we have the fear of God in our heart to serve with integrity, humility, sincerity and love…?
Here are 3 points that will remind us to serve in the fear of God…
1. Compassion for the oppressed…We need to have a heart for the downtrodden, the lost and the least. It should be about us lifting as we climb. We should be giving people a hand up…
2. Walk in the fear of God…We should not always go around hoping for an immediate reward for service. We should serve because we want to honor the Sovereign God…
3. It is not what you get in life, it is what you give…Serving is about giving not getting. The Lord measures greatness by how we serve…
So what motivates you to serve…?

Good Morning Family,
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.”
As you contemplate making crucial decisions in your life today ensure that you are hearing the voice of the Lord. Yes, it is possible for us to make decisions without consultation from a Sovereign God. We can be so much in a hurry that we try to get ahead of God in anticipation of where God is leading us. Then we arrive at the conclusion of how did we arrive at this particular place…
All too often, we will use the text of Abram to validate our decisions when it is not used in its proper context. The truth is we want to do something; we just want someone to validate our personal decision. To help us in connection with the Abram story; Abram was told to go by God. It was not a chance move hoping everything would work out in the end. It was not a roll of the dice move hoping that the right numbers appeared. It was a calculated move with the full assurance that God was leading…
Abram was clear about hearing the voice of God before taking the step. He was not clear about where he was going but he did know that this was the time. Beloved, as believers make sure we hear the voice of God before we catapult to our next place, our next challenge or to our next destination. God will cover us along the way because when we follow God’s voice; God’s name is on the line…

Good Morning Family,
“Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.” – Genesis 13:9
One of the most difficult decisions we will ever make in life is the decision to leave a particular place. This does not mean that every time something does not go our way, we don’t like the plan or we can’t get our way then we make the decision to leave. Running from things are never the answer. The real question we must ask ourselves is when will we know…?
Some of us have not taken the time to deliberate or consult with the Lord because we are afraid of what God may tell us. Abraham gives us a lesson in futility on handling a major decision in the correct manner. There is strife between Lot and Abraham. The relationship is not going well and there is no peace between the parties. So Abraham makes the mature decision to part ways. Sometimes we must let people go and not hold onto them for our selfish benefit. Some people we don’t want to let go of because they are beneficial to our particular need…
The relationship should be mutual; both parties should be better because of the involvement. Abraham realizes that it is time to part company with Lot. He wishes Lot the best. Abraham may even know that Lot is not ready to leave but sometimes people cannot go where God is taking us. Abraham had a sense of peace in knowing that parting was best. Lot wanted to leave for selfish reasons. Abraham discerned to hear God’s voice. Lot ran into trouble. Abraham experienced peace…
The key to making mature decisions in your faith journey: peace. God gives us a sense of peace when God is leading. We can experience trouble but when God is leading we will still have peace. When we are led by our Lot instinct we will pitch our tent toward Sodom; the wrong place because of the wrong decision…
Before you move know that the peace of God is leading before leaving…
“When peace like a river attendeth my way…When sorrows like sea billows roll…Whatever my lot thou hast taught me to say…It is well…It is well with my soul…”
