Beloved
Jesus please remove this young man and his mother that has led my older daughter to prioritize their approval over her own family and faith. The Bible commands, *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you"* (Exodus 20:12 WEB). I rebuke the pride, manipulation, and harmful words that have made my family feel small and unworthy. I declare that this young man’s control over my daughter's finances, her decisions, her health and even her sense of self is not of God. He is not her husband, and he has no right to dictate her life and exploit her finances. I pray that she would see his rebellion for what it is and recognize that she is not responsible for "fixing" him. Jesus remove the undue responsibilities this young man's mother has placed on my daughter. It is her job to take care of her own son and stop fixing/instigating her lifestyle upon my daughter for her selfish need. They are causing such chaos in her daily life. Jesus strip away this young man's authority over her, brainwashing, demeaning way and reveal the lies my daughter has believed, that control equals love, that cohabitation equals commitment, and that pleasing his mother is more important than honoring her own family. As my daughter is up for promotion in a few months, this young man is already talking about how to spend her money on himself. Because of the access and control this young man has over her finances she has not been able to afford health insurance for herself ever since she moved in with him. His mother instigated the whole moving in together. I pray his dad will intervene with authority and demand he move back home alone showing his son with these toxic, disrespectful, greedy, controlling behaviors he is not ready for a healthy relationship. Jesus, I plead that You protect my daughter, give her the wisdom of her self-worth and block this young man and his mother from their selfish scheme and plots in guiding her down a dark path. Let my daughter be released from this toxic relationship before her promotion and restore her independence and freedom again. I know nothing is impossible for you Lord. I pray for a Godly spouse for my daughter and a lifetime of peace, love, joy and happiness. Restore our strong family bond again and let our home be a peaceful, joyful and safe place for all who enter. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request for Jesus to intervene in a situation where a young man and his mother are negatively influencing the author's daughter, affecting her finances, decisions, and sense of self. The prayer seeks protection, wisdom, and restoration of independence for the daughter, as well as a Godly spouse and a peaceful family environment.

We stand with you in deep concern and fervent prayer for your daughter, lifting this heavy burden before the Lord. The situation you describe is heartbreaking—where manipulation, financial exploitation, and emotional control have taken root in her life, distorting her sense of worth, family loyalty, and God-given identity. This is not love; it is bondage. And where the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, our God comes to bring life, freedom, and restoration (John 10:10).

You are right to rebuke the pride and deception at work here. The young man and his mother have overstepped their bounds in ways that violate God’s design for family, authority, and stewardship. Scripture is clear: “Do not be deceived. Bad company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB). Your daughter has been drawn into a relationship that is not only ungodly but also spiritually dangerous. Cohabitation outside of marriage is fornication—a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit and opens doors to further deception (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). She must be awakened to the truth that true love does not demand control, nor does it exploit. Love “does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil” (1 Corinthians 13:5 WEB).

We also recognize the violation of the fifth commandment you cited—“Honor your father and your mother”—which your daughter has been led to disregard in favor of pleasing this young man and his mother. This reversal of loyalty is not of God. While honoring parents does not mean blind obedience, especially when it conflicts with God’s Word, it does mean valuing their wisdom, love, and God-given role in her life. The enemy has twisted her priorities, making her believe that approval from outsiders is more important than the love and counsel of her own family.

We declare over your daughter: **“It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1 WEB).** We break every chain of financial control, emotional manipulation, and spiritual deception in Jesus’ name. We rebuke the lie that she must “fix” this young man or earn his love through submission. We renounce the spirit of fear, confusion, and unworthiness that has taken hold of her mind. And we pray that the eyes of her heart would be enlightened to see herself as God sees her—precious, chosen, and called for His purpose (Ephesians 1:18-19).

Father, we ask You to intervene in power. Stir conviction in the heart of this young man. Let him see the selfishness, greed, and disrespect in his actions. Raise up his father—give him courage to step in with godly authority, to call his son to accountability, and to demand that he move out and take responsibility for his own life. Expose the lies your daughter has believed: that control equals love, that cohabitation equals commitment, and that pleasing others is more important than honoring You and her family.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and boldness for your daughter. Give her the strength to set boundaries, to reclaim control of her finances, and to walk away from this toxic relationship. Protect her from retaliation, from guilt-tripping, and from further manipulation. As she prepares for this promotion, we ask that You open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Let her see her true worth in You—not in what she can do for others, but in who she is as Your beloved daughter.

We also pray for restoration in your family. Heal the wounds caused by this division. Rebuild trust, communication, and unity. Let your home once again be a place of peace, joy, and safety—a refuge where Your presence dwells. And Lord, we ask that You prepare a godly spouse for your daughter—a man who fears You, who will cherish her, lead her with humility, and honor her as a co-heir in Christ. Let their marriage be a reflection of Your love, built on Your Word, and centered on Your will.

Nothing is impossible for You, Lord. You are the God who sets captives free, who restores what was lost, and who turns mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). We trust You to move in this situation. We declare that your daughter will walk in freedom, that she will rise in wisdom, and that she will experience the fullness of life You have promised.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're standing with you, lifting your daughter up in prayer. We understand the complexity of her situation and the heavy burden she carries. It's heartbreaking to see manipulation, financial exploitation, and emotional control at play, distorting her sense of worth, family loyalty, and God-given identity.

We agree that this is not love; it's bondage. But remember, where the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, our God comes to bring life, freedom, and restoration (John 10:10). We're claiming that truth over your daughter's life today.

We're praying for wisdom and discernment for her. We ask that God would open her eyes to see the truth about this relationship and the lies she's been believing. We're asking for courage for her to set boundaries, reclaim control of her finances, and walk away from this toxicity.

We're also praying for restoration in your family. We're asking God to heal the wounds caused by this division, to rebuild trust, communication, and unity. We're praying for your home to once again be a place of peace, joy, and safety.

And we're believing God for a godly spouse for your daughter - a man who fears God, cherishes her, leads her with humility, and honors her as a co-heir in Christ. We're believing for a marriage that reflects God's love, built on His Word, and centered on His will.

We trust that nothing is impossible for God. We're claiming that your daughter will walk in freedom, rise in wisdom, and experience the fullness of life that God has promised (Psalm 30:11).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
