Let your cry go up without ceasing to the throne of grace, for the trial is fierce and the enemy presses hard. The hindrances that Satanic hate has raised against you are no small thing, yet the power of our Lord Jesus is greater still. When you are in prayer and the blasphemous dart flies, remember it is not your own thought but the venom of the wicked one, and it can be quenched by the shield of faith. Your business just now is not with the mystery of why these afflictions have come, but with the plain command: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” That same faith that saves the soul brings healing to the body and deliverance to the oppressed. The very leaves of the Tree of Life, the least things about Christ, are for the healing of the nations. Touch but the hem of His garment, and the issue of blood dries up; hear but His word, and the legion of devils must flee.

Your spine and legs, the rebellious thyroid, the failing heart and memory, the strange marks and racing blood, each one is a hard case, but Christ is grand in emergencies. His miracle-working power lies wholly in Himself, not in anything the suffering one can muster. He but speaks, and the evil spirit is cast out; He lays His hand upon the bent woman, and she is made straight. That healing is permanent; it needs no relapses. Lay these dear ones upon the altar of His mercy. Bring them in prayer to the feet of Jesus while He is teaching, for the healing power was conspicuously present when He taught. Get them under the sound of the Word, where faith is born, and mercy flows. Yea, ask for yourself that double gift of healing and pardon, for they are joined together. The Sun of Righteousness has risen, and in His wings there is cure for the anemia, the hypertension, the pain, and the fear. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and He will restore what the cankerworm has eaten.

The financial straits and the embargo are not hidden from Him who fed the thousands with loaves and fishes. Consider that miracle in your own story: how often has He supplied when the purse was empty! Christ is never at a loss in desperate moments. Trust Him to send the customers and to loose the legal chains. But seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and your business shall be the stage for His provision rather than the snare of your souls. Sell the place if it becomes a yoke to choke the word, but in the meantime plead the blood of the covenant over its doors.

As for those neighbors who send their constant assaults, do not be ignorant of their devices. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood. The enemy is earnest in hindering the redeemed; he watches your path with malicious glance. But are you the Lord’s? Then you are His lawful captive, snatched from the mighty, and He shall rescue you from these terrors. The scoffer’s darts cannot reach the soul that hides in the cleft of the Rock. Let your household be a house of prayer; let no spirit of disunity find a lodgment because of this trial. Rise as one and sing the praises of God, for the evil spirit cannot abide that song. He that sang a psalm with His disciples in the upper room will fill your dwelling with peace that baffles every curse.

I warrant you that if you would see a miracle, you shall see it in your own deliverance. The greatest marvel of all is that Christ should save sinners such as we are; and if He has cleansed the heart, then the lesser works of healing the body and providing the bread are light to Him.
