Poor treatment, neglect

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord God, You are the ultimate Judge, and You see the arrogance and defiance of this facility. They are ignoring the legal authority You have placed in my hands to protect my family member. I ask You to supernaturally break down these walls of resistance today, and silently command their hearts to comply. Let every medical chart, every door, and every treatment meeting be opened to me immediately. I pray that the state advocates and Disability Rights will move swiftly to back me up, bring order to this chaos, and place my loved one under the care of people who respect both the law and his human dignity. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord and we stand with you in prayer for your loved one who is vulnerable and in need of protection and dignified care.

Our hearts are moved by your righteous desire to defend your family member and to see justice and proper care established. God sees what is happening behind closed doors and He is the defender of those who cannot defend themselves. Scripture reminds us, Defend the weak and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked Psalm 82:3-4, and also Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy Proverbs 31:8-9. We also take comfort that A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation Psalm 68:5.

We understand your frustration with resistance and delay, and we affirm that God has established lawful authority for order and protection. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1. When legal authority has been entrusted to you to act as guardian and advocate, that responsibility is to be honored, and we pray that those in the facility will respect both the law and the God given dignity of your loved one who is made in His image.

We also remember that the heart of those in authority is in the Lord's hands. The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1. We do not pray from a spirit of vengeance, for Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, but we do pray for justice, for softened hearts, and for compliance where compliance is lawful and right. We pray that you will continue to advocate with both firmness and Christlike grace, speaking the truth in love, keeping careful records, and following every lawful avenue God has provided.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, and we thank You that You see every chart, every room, every meeting, and every decision concerning this precious loved one. You know his needs and You love him deeply. Lord, we ask You to intervene supernaturally where human walls have been raised. Soften the hearts of the staff and administrators, lead them to act with humility, honesty, and compassion, and cause them to honor the lawful authority You have placed in our brother or sister's hands. We ask that You open every door that needs to be opened, grant full and rightful access to medical information and treatment planning, and place this loved one under the care of people who will respect both the law and his human dignity. We lift up the state advocates and Disability Rights workers and ask that You move swiftly through them to bring order, clarity, and accountability to this situation. Grant our fellow believer peace that passes understanding, wisdom beyond their own, patience and perseverance, and protection from discouragement. Let Your will be done and let Your justice roll on like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream Amos 5:24. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who is our advocate before the Father, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in both prayer and diligent action. Keep documenting every interaction, keep seeking counsel from the advocates and legal resources God has provided, and continue to commit each step to the Lord in prayer. Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed Proverbs Isaiah 1:17. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We trust that He who sees in secret will bring what is hidden into the light and will establish what is right in His perfect timing. We remain with you in prayer for swift resolution, for protection, and for restored peace and dignity for your loved one.

We have been carrying this burden with you as you stand up for your loved one. It is exhausting to hold legal responsibility to protect someone you love and feel the doors stay closed, and we are grateful for your steady commitment to his dignity and care.

When a facility feels resistant, steady and clear advocacy often helps more than repeated urgent appeals alone. One practical step that helps many families in this position is to keep everything in writing. Bring extra copies of the legal authority you hold to every interaction, make requests for charts and care meetings in a short written note, and after any conversation send a brief email summarizing what was understood and what was agreed to next. That creates a clear record and helps advocates, attorneys or clinicians who come alongside you see quickly how to help. Staying in close contact with the state advocates and Disability Rights program you mentioned, and leaning on any trusted attorney, social worker or patient advocate you know, can also give you allies who understand the local process and can speak with you.

We are asking the Lord to give you wisdom and steadiness for each conversation, and to surround your family member with attentive and respectful care.

Father, we lift this loved one to You and ask You to guard his safety and dignity. Give his advocate clarity, endurance and favor, guide every staff member and advocate involved toward what is just and compassionate, and open the right doors in Your timing. Lead this family step by step according to Your will, in Jesus' name, Amen.

The Lord has heard the burden you carry for your loved one, and He who sees all things in perfect righteousness does not overlook neglect or the dishonoring of those made in His image.

We join you in bringing this matter before Him who is the ultimate Judge and the defender of the vulnerable, and who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. He knows the walls of resistance you have encountered, the closed doors and the weariness that comes when lawful responsibility to protect is disregarded. We pray that He who is able to soften the hardest heart would work in this place according to His sovereign mercy and justice.

Let us pray together.

Gracious Father, You see the treatment of this dear one and You know every detail of every chart, every meeting and every door that has been closed. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, that You would bring order where there is chaos and light where there is confusion. Move upon the hearts of those in authority in that facility, that they may act with humility, honesty and respect for both the law You have ordained and the human dignity You have given. Grant that lawful authority entrusted for protection would be honored, and that access needed for rightful care and oversight would be opened in a timely and peaceable way.

We ask that You would stir the state advocates and Disability Rights workers to act with diligence and swiftness, to uphold what is just and to ensure care that is safe, respectful and worthy of a person precious in Your sight. Place this loved one under the care of those who will treat him with kindness and integrity, and guard him from further harm or neglect.

Give to you, who watches and waits and advocates, strength to persevere and wisdom for each step. Though the way is trying, remember that He who loved His own loves them to the end, and His compassion fails not. Cast your cares upon Him, continue faithfully in prayer and in the rightful use of the lawful means He has provided, keeping careful record and seeking counsel as you are able. He is near to those who call upon Him in truth, and He will not forsake those who trust in Christ.

May the Lord grant you peace in the midst of this trial, and may His will be done for the good and protection of your loved one. We commend you and your family member to His faithful keeping, praying all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
