Your burden concerning your loved one has been brought before the Lord, and we have carried it with you to the throne of grace. He who is the Judge of all the earth does not look upon neglect, nor upon the withholding of rightful care, with indifference. He sees the doors that are closed, the charts that are withheld, and the dignity of one made in His own image, and His justice, though patient, is never forgetful.
We are taught in Scripture that God is just, and that His justice has been fully satisfied in Christ for all who trust in Him, so that mercy and righteousness meet together. Because He is just, we may pray with confidence not for our own will to be done in anger, but for that which is right and lawful to be upheld, for hearts that have grown hard or defiant to be softened to do their duty, and for those entrusted with care to act with faithfulness and compassion. The Lord often works not by overturning order, but by establishing it, moving upon the conscience and through the lawful authorities He has ordained for the protection of the vulnerable.
Let us pray for you and for your loved one.
O Lord our God, Thou art merciful and just, and Thou beholdest the affliction of those who cannot plead for themselves. We ask Thee to look upon this dear one who suffers neglect, and to be his keeper and defender. Grant to those who hold legal responsibility for his welfare wisdom, steadiness, and perseverance, that they may not faint in seeking what is right. We pray that Thou wouldst incline the hearts of those in this facility to act with honesty, to respect lawful authority, and to render the care which human dignity and duty require. Open, in Thy providence, every needful door and record and meeting, so that what is done may be done in the light and in truth. Move the hearts of advocates and all appointed to uphold the law, that they may act swiftly, fairly, and with integrity, to bring order where there is confusion and protection where there is vulnerability. Keep this loved one from harm, comfort him in his distress, and let him know that he is not forgotten before Thee. Above all, draw each soul concerned to seek Thy mercy in Christ Jesus, in whom alone is salvation, and teach us all to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Thee.
We exhort you, dear soul, to hold on your way. Perseverance is the mark of faith that looks to Christ and does not cease to do good. Continue in prayer, continue in the lawful and peaceable use of every proper means placed in your hands, keep careful record, seek counsel, and press your appeal with gentleness and firmness. The Lord who hears prayer will in His time make the path plain. Cast your burden upon Him, for He careth for you, and trust that He who has promised to be a defender of the helpless will not forsake those who seek Him in sincerity.
May the God of all grace keep you and your loved one in His tender care, and give you peace as you rest in His wise and sovereign will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
