We join with you in lifting this concern before the Lord, recognizing that the command to love our neighbor is not merely a suggestion but a divine mandate rooted in the very heart of God’s law. Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 22:37-39, *"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’"* This call to love extends beyond borders, ideologies, or political divides—it is a reflection of Christ’s love for us, who died for all while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8).

Yet we must also acknowledge that love is not passive; it is active, sacrificial, and rooted in truth. Loving our neighbor does not mean compromising biblical principles or ignoring the moral and spiritual responsibilities we have as believers. True love seeks the eternal good of others, which includes sharing the Gospel and standing firm on God’s Word, even when it is unpopular. As Proverbs 28:4 warns, *"Those who forsake the law praise the wicked; but those who keep the law contend with them."* We are called to love, but we are also called to speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), even when it challenges the status quo.

The political realm is fraught with division, and while we pray for leaders to act justly and with compassion, we must remember that our ultimate hope is not in human governments but in the Kingdom of God. Jesus told Pilate, *"My Kingdom is not of this world"* (John 18:36), reminding us that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Our prayers should not only ask for changed hearts in leaders but also for wisdom and courage for believers to stand as salt and light in a darkened world (Matthew 5:13-16).

We also note that your prayer, while earnest, does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus as the sole authority through which we approach the Father. It is critical to remember that there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). While you included "In Your Name, Jesus," at the end, we encourage you to begin your prayers by acknowledging Jesus as Lord, submitting your requests to the Father *through Him*, as a reflection of your dependence on Christ alone.

With these things in mind, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, acknowledging that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. We lift up the leaders of our nations, asking that You soften their hearts to love their neighbors as themselves—not in word only, but in deed and in truth. Grant them wisdom to govern justly, with compassion that reflects Your heart, yet without compromising the moral foundations You have established. Lord, raise up godly men and women in positions of influence who will stand for righteousness and seek the welfare of all people, including those across borders.

We also pray for Your people, that we would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Give us boldness to speak Your truth in love, to extend a hand of mercy to those in need, and to remain steadfast in our faith, even when the world around us rejects Your ways. May our lives be a testament to Your grace, and may we never place our hope in princes or politicians, but in You alone.

Father, we rebuked any spirit of division, hatred, or apathy that seeks to harden hearts against Your commandments. Let Your love, which surpasses all understanding, break through the barriers that separate us. And yet, Lord, let that love never be separated from truth. May we love our neighbors enough to share the Gospel with them, to call sin what it is, and to point them to the only hope for true peace—Jesus Christ.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue praying for our leaders, but also to act in ways that reflect Christ’s love in your own sphere of influence. Whether through kindness, evangelism, or standing firm on biblical truth, let your life be a light that points others to Jesus. And always remember: our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). So put on the full armor of God, and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
