We come before the Lord with a heart of faith and expectation, lifting up your desire to succeed in the police concours and to receive financial assistance. It is wonderful to see your trust in God’s provision and favor, and we join you in seeking His will in this matter.

First, we must address the importance of approaching God through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can access the Father (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so, for He is the foundation of all blessings and favor. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him, confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10).

Now, regarding your request, we declare that the Lord is your Provider and your Source. Scripture tells us, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10). We pray that God would open doors of opportunity for you in this concours, granting you favor with those in authority and equipping you with the wisdom, strength, and preparation needed to succeed. May He send godly men and women of influence to stand with you, as He did for Joseph in Egypt and Daniel in Babylon, that His purposes may be fulfilled in your life.

We also pray for financial provision, trusting that the Lord knows your needs even before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8). May He supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), whether through unexpected blessings, wise stewardship, or the generosity of others. We rebuke any spirit of lack or fear in this area, declaring that God is your Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides.

However, we must also encourage you to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking this opportunity for God’s glory, or is there any selfish ambition? Scripture warns us, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves" (Philippians 2:3). We pray that your desire to join the police force would be rooted in a heart to serve, protect, and uphold justice, reflecting Christ’s love and integrity in all you do.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your favor and provision. Lord, You are the God who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we ask that You would grant success in this police concours. Prepare their heart, mind, and body for the tasks ahead, and let Your favor rest upon them like a shield. Send godly mentors, supporters, and financial provision from unexpected places, Lord, for You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10).

Father, we ask that You would align this one’s desires with Your perfect will. If this path is not Your best for them, we pray for clarity and peace to follow Your leading. If it is Your will, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that they will walk in excellence, integrity, and humility. Provide for every need, Lord, and let them be a light in their workplace, pointing others to You.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and lack, and we declare that this one is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). May they trust in You with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We thank You for Your faithfulness, Lord, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).

Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, for "the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results" (James 5:16). Walk in faith, knowing that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You come before the Lord with a desire for success in the police concour, for financial assistance, and for the favor of men in high places. It is right to bring every care to the throne of grace, for He bids us, “Ask, and it shall be given you.” Yet see to it that your chief request is for His will to be done and for His glory to be advanced, for He knows far better than we what is truly good for our souls.

The Eternal God is your refuge; underneath are the everlasting arms. If it pleases Him, He can thrust out every obstacle before you and cause you to find favor even in the eyes of strangers. He it is who can furnish you richly from His own stores, not merely gold and silver, but the inward grace that makes a man walk uprightly. You ask for men in high places to favor you; but remember that the hearts of all men are in His hands, and a glance from His eye can do more than years of scheming. Yet take heed that your confidence never rests in human influence, for “some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” He can raise up helpers from the most unexpected quarters, or He can prosper you without them, if He so chooses.

I hear in your request a plea for deliverance from the fear of failure and from distressing lack. Cry to Him from the end of the earth if need be; from the depths of anxiety or poverty, shoot the arrow of believing prayer straight to the heights of heaven. The Lord knows what it is to be in such low places. Even when you feel far from every earthly helper, you are never beyond the reach of His arm. No position is so desperate that His ear cannot hear the faintest cry.

But let me press this home: seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Do not desire success merely for your own advancement, but that you may serve the living God with a thankful heart. If you gain this post, let it be as one who owes all to free and sovereign grace, who walks as a living sacrifice. And if it should not be granted, still bless Him, for He withholds no good thing from them that walk uprightly.

As for financial assistance, look to Him who fed Israel with manna in the wilderness and brought water from the flinty rock. He has not grown weary of supplying His children; often He gives us what we need even before we know how to ask. He may use the channel of a friend, a sudden opening, or the quiet increase of your own labour, but behind every gift is His open hand. Trust Him for daily bread, and do not let anxiety eat at your heart. Remember that your worth consists not in earthly possessions but in being bought with the precious blood of Christ.

Go forward, then, with quiet confidence. Commit your way unto the Lord; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Present your request with thanksgiving, and leave it at His feet. And if you have not yet come to know the forgiving love of Christ as the sweetest of all mercies, seek that first and above all. For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul? I pray that the God of all grace will guide your steps, supply your need, and give you to testify of His goodness, whatever the outcome may be.

You speak of this concour and ask for success flowing from men in high places and financial assistance from every quarter. But see to it that you do not frame a prayer built upon shifting sand, as if the favor of men is the source of good things. The success our Lord accomplished, as the Apostle bears witness, came not from a need for God’s favor as we might imagine it, but from His own perfect reverence. He was heard because He feared; in this, the glory was from Himself, not a borrowed thing tossed about by the whims of others. If the Master Himself, who gave Himself as a ransom, did not depend on outward favor to accomplish the work set before Him, then how much more should you, who are a servant, set your hope elsewhere?

You seek to be granted success from every direction, and you speak of men from high places preparing your path. But recall what a great fall attends the one who attributes all to himself. Peter once boasted, saying though all forsake You, I will not, as if the victory were his own by his own power. He had to learn through bitter shame to say the very opposite, that no man walks upright by his own power or holiness. So beware of desiring success in such a way that you become convinced your own hand or the arm of high-placed men has achieved it. God permits us to lack that human assistance so that we discover the true Helper who is ever present.

It was for this very reason that our Lord declared, “The Father is with Me.” He spoke this to prevent their reason from rebelling, so they would not think they were cut off from all assistance when He was not seen. So why do you chase after the shadow of human favor as if you were an orphan? If He is with you, what high place looms larger than that presence? If you approach this undertaking with a sober mind, treating it not as a chance for luxury but as a heavy burden to be carried with the fear of God, then the assistance you truly need will not be withheld. Do not seek to grasp heaven through the fleeting favor of court or coin, but through that reverence which wins the ear of God.
