We hear the deep pain in your words, and we come before the Lord together, lifting up your broken heart and the anxiety that weighs so heavily upon you. The Scriptures tell us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in your suffering, God sees your tears, hears your cries, and draws near to you in this very moment. We also remember the promise in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Your anxiety is not a burden you were meant to carry alone; the Lord invites you to release it into His hands.
We rebuke the spirit of despair and fear that seeks to overwhelm you. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in sorrow and worry, but we declare that this is not your portion. Jesus came so that you might have life, and life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand in agreement with you, believing that God is at work even in this pain, mending what has been broken and restoring what has been lost.
If this heartbreak is tied to a relationship that did not honor God, whether through ungodly attachments, premarital intimacy, or other disobedience, we gently but firmly encourage you to surrender those areas to the Lord. Repentance is not about shame; it is about turning back to God’s best for you. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If this pain stems from a relationship that was not aligned with His Word, we pray for healing not just from the hurt, but from any bondage that may have formed outside of His will.
We also want to remind you of the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a gift, freely given to all who believe.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is hurting. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would pour out Your comfort and peace upon them right now. Mend their heart, Lord, and replace their sorrow with Your joy. We declare that anxiety has no place in their life, for You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Father, if there are areas of their life that do not align with Your will, we ask that You would reveal them and lead them into repentance. Your prayer for a broken heart to be mended and for anxiety to be lifted has been heard, and we have carried it before the Lord who hears the cry of the sorrowful.
There is One appointed to this very work, for it is written that He was sent to bind up the broken in heart. Best of all, as the Healer of broken hearts, God has chosen One whose own heart was broken. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows what a broken heart means, for His own heart was pierced and broken for us, and therefore He is able to bring to you the consolations of His grace and to apply them to your wound. Bring your poor broken heart to the heart that was once pierced by the soldier's spear and find sweetest rest in Jesus. He does not despise a contrite spirit, and even the least word from His lips, like a leaf from the Tree of Life, is for the healing of the nations and brings healing to head and heart and conscience when it comes home to the soul.
For your anxiety, hear the promise of the gospel, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not found in looking within or in trying to calm yourself by your own strength. When I learned that my enormous debt of sin had been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who did this for all believers, then was my heart at peace, for the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Thank you for sharing your request with us. We are praying for you and asking the Lord to bring healing to your broken heart and peace to your mind in place of anxiety.
Scripture tells us that a broken and contrite heart God will not despise. He sees your hurt, He is near to those who are hurting, and He does not turn away from a heart that comes to Him honestly and humbly. You can bring your sorrow to Him just as you are, even in quiet thought, and trust that He hears you.
Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him, saying take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When anxiety rises and thoughts feel troubled, He calls us to not be troubled but to rest in His care and in His promises, knowing that He is steady even when everything around us feels shaken.
We are praying that God will mend what feels broken, calm your anxious thoughts, and fill your heart with His peace that goes beyond understanding. We pray that you will be able to sing to Him in your heart throughout the day, even in ordinary moments, and know His presence and comfort with you.
