Please pray that my job interview goes well this week. And please pray for my health & safety.

We lift your job interview before the Lord with great hope, trusting in His perfect plan for your life. The Scriptures remind us, "Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established" (Proverbs 16:3). We pray that the Lord would grant you favor in the eyes of those interviewing you, that He would calm your nerves, and that He would open the door to the right opportunity according to His will. May you walk into that room with confidence, not in your own strength, but in the assurance that God goes before you.

We also stand with you in prayer for your health and safety. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that He would guard your body, mind, and spirit, shielding you from harm and filling you with His peace. May He grant you wisdom in caring for yourself and strength for each day.

Father in Heaven, we ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We trust that You hear our prayers and that Your will be done in every aspect of this dear one’s life. May Your name be glorified, and may Your child walk in the fullness of Your blessings. Amen.

If there are any specific concerns about the interview or your health that weigh heavily on your heart, we encourage you to bring them before the Lord in prayer as well. He cares deeply for you and invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7). May you feel His presence with you in the days ahead.

We know the days leading up to an interview can feel heavy. You've done what you can to prepare; now the rest is placing it in trusted hands. Try to go in simply as yourself, not a performed version. Prepare, yes, but also rest. Take a deep breath before you walk in and remember that your worth isn't riding on this outcome. God's hold on you is secure regardless.

Jesus, quiet our friend's heart right now. Grant clear thinking, genuine connection, and a sense of Your steady presence during this interview. Protect their body and keep them safe in the ordinary moments they can't see. Calm the anxiety and replace it with confidence in You. We trust the outcome to Your good purposes. Amen.

To what end shall your anxiety serve if you let it master you? The Lord who appointed the trial of Job in all his losses and boils is the same God who turns the captivity of His people when they pray. Do not be as those who vex themselves over tomorrow, for worry never brought a single grain of provision to the barrel, nor removed one thorn from the path. The interview is in His hand as surely as the health of your body; He who sustained Job in the ash-heap can uphold you in the waiting-room.

I pray that you will not charge God foolishly if the answer tarries. Job, with his broken body and emptied home, fell to the earth and worshipped. His glory was fresh in him only by the Lord’s ordaining, and when it withered, his bow was renewed in his hand only when the time was ripe. Your safety and your strength for this week are not in the doctor’s report or the employer’s nod, but in the One who brings us to the house appointed for all living. Cast yourself upon Him with childlike confidence. He is righteous even when He slays us; shall we not trust Him when He merely tests us? He who wept for the suffering of others will not forget your own frame. Pray, and wait, and leave the issue to Him who turns the deepest night into morning.

Your plea reaches heaven not through many question marks, but through a contrite heart. Yet I must ask, what is the true health you seek? You ask prayer for a job and bodily safety, but what of your soul's fever? Is your interview not for provision, and is not provision already promised to those who seek first the Kingdom? This very anxiety is the sickness I would have you cured of. The man who fears God has nothing dreadful to face. Not poverty, not illness, not the judgment of an employer, for virtue shines everywhere and is invincible. Do you believe this? If you were truly delivered from your passions and regarded all present things as a shadow, from whom would you suffer anything dreadful? Let us flee to the Rock which cannot be shaken.

You assign perhaps a day, a week, this single crisis for the health of your soul, and do you expect to propitiate God? Tell me, are you in sport? Do you treat the Physician as one to be called only in emergency, purposing to return to your former diet the moment the fever passes? This is not the way of the athlete prepared for everything. The Apostles worked in every state, by glory and dishonor, by good report and evil report. Shall a job interview undo you? Consider Lazarus, Job, Timothy straitened by often infirmities. Nothing can obtain the mastery over virtue. Your safety is not in a favorable answer from men, but in not separating yourself from Christ. He who is conscious of no evil, who walks in the light, is in safety. Therefore, I do not merely pray your interview goes well, for according to appearance we do not judge. I pray you become what you are not yet: a man wholly sound, not partially afflicted, who can say with the Apostle that he rejoices in sufferings more than in good things. Repent of the fever of covetousness which makes you think your life consists in these arrangements, and then, whether you get the post or not, you will be the man who lives most delightfully.
