Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone. I'm here because I am feeling so helpless and I beg of you all to please pray for my love and I.. we have been together for two years last month and we lived together but there was constant fights and his battle with giving up alcohol which led to abuse and constantly having issues.. we got a place with my grandparents and then it got to a stage where I ended up moving out to my mother but he was here every weekend only when drunk though.. I went back and forth living in both places until another huge problem occured and then I never went back.. when he came on my birthday I told him let's end in peace assuming that would make him want to change so he doesnt lose me but instead he moved out leaving my grandparents all alone.. I saw him last weekend after a month and I thought things would come right but instead we aren't speaking anymore after a huge fight .. I just want him to speak to me and for us to be good again and save our relationship as I love him alot. Please pray that he contacts me and ask to fix things and ask us all to live as one family again happily this time.. he thinks his ex is using evil things to separate us and I do too. Please help as I am super anxious right now and I cannot function or even eat or sleep. Our names are ### and ###. God bless you ..thank you so much ..

We hear your deep distress and longing for reconciliation, and we come before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His will and wisdom in this situation. First, we must address some critical concerns that weigh on our spirits as we lift this to God.

The relationship you describe was marked by instability, conflict, and even abuse, patterns that do not reflect the love, respect, and peace God intends for His children. Living together outside of marriage is not God’s design; Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). The turmoil you experienced, frequent fights, alcohol-fueled behavior, and emotional pain, are not the fruits of a godly union. While your love for him is real, love must be rooted in Christ’s example: patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). The cycles of separation and reunion you describe suggest a relationship built on instability rather than the firm foundation of God’s Word.

We must also address the mention of "evil things" separating you. While spiritual warfare is real (Ephesians 6:12), we cannot blame external forces alone for the brokenness in this relationship. The choices made, unrepentant sin, broken trust, and living in ways contrary to Scripture, have created deep wounds. True restoration begins with humility, repentance, and a commitment to align with God’s principles, not just a desire to "fix things" as they were.

Most critically, we must ask: Have you both surrendered your lives to Jesus Christ? Salvation comes only through faith in Him (Acts 4:12), and without this foundation, any reconciliation will lack the power of the Holy Spirit to transform hearts. If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as Lord, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to lead your life (Romans 10:9-10). This is the first step toward true healing, for yourself and any future relationship.

Now, we lift this situation to the Lord with a prayer of truth and hope:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for ### and ###. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your truth to them in this season. Soften their hearts to hear Your voice and see the areas where their relationship has strayed from Your design. Father, we pray for ###'s battle with alcohol and the pain it has caused; break the chains of addiction by the power of Your Spirit, and lead him to repentance and healing. For ###, we ask for Your peace to guard her heart and mind (Philippians 4:7), and for the strength to release what is not aligned with Your will.

Lord, if it is Your will for them to reconcile, we pray for a miracle of transformation, not just a return to the past, but a new beginning built on Your Word. Convict them of sin, lead them to seek Your face, and guide them toward godly counsel and accountability. If this relationship is not Your plan, we pray for the grace to accept Your better way, trusting that You work all things for good (Romans 8:28). Protect them from the enemy’s lies and fill them with Your hope. Above all, draw them close to You, for in You alone is true love and restoration. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian mentor who can walk with you through this. True healing begins with surrender to Christ, not just a desire to reunite. If this man is the one God has for you, He will make a way, but it must be a way that honors Him. In the meantime, focus on your own walk with the Lord. Spend time in His Word, pray without ceasing, and allow His peace to fill the places where anxiety has taken root. You are deeply loved by your Heavenly Father, and He has a plan for your life that is greater than you can imagine (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust Him with your heart, and He will never fail you.

We are so sorry you are feeling this overwhelmed and afraid. The pain and longing you have shared are real, and we are holding you up with genuine care. Your safety and well-being matter deeply, not only to us, but to the God who sees you right now.

Because there has been abuse and alcohol-related violence, your physical safety is what we care about first. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support and to talk with someone who can help you think through your next steps, find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You do not have to walk through this alone, and reaching out for that kind of help is not a sign of weakness but of courage.

When love gets mixed with fear, drinking, and harm, the path forward is not simply to reunite and hope it will be different. Real change requires that the abuse stops entirely, that sobriety becomes a stable reality, and that healing happens, often with professional guidance and time. You cannot fix his addiction or his actions, and it is not your job to endure harm while waiting for him to become safe. Your own life, your own peace, and your own ability to eat and sleep again are precious to the Lord.

Right now, instead of placing all your hope on him contacting you, we gently encourage you to put your energy toward one small, steady step for your own care: tell a trusted friend or family member everything that has happened, let someone sit with you in this anxiety, and consider speaking with a counselor or a domestic violence advocate who can help you make a plan for your own stability. Even just calling a helpline tonight could lift a little of that weight.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our friend who is hurting, unable to eat or rest. Please wrap her in Your peace that surpasses understanding. Protect her from harm, quiet the racing thoughts, and give her wise, calm clarity. Bring safe people and practical help around her right now. We ask for genuine transformation and sobriety for her former partner, not to win her back, but for the sake of his own soul and future. Give both of them the help they need, in separate seasons of healing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Amen and amen. Thank you so much for your advice and healing words. We were going to church but recently we haven't been going full time.. I want to go back into the Lord and surrender myself .. i believe our father perform miracles therefore I am praying and even requesting so thank you again.. if the lord brings us together again as one , I promise the lord that I will also make changes in my life as I am not perfect and I am also responsible for some of the fights..

The very anxiety that has laid hold upon thee doth but unfit thee to meet the trial. Hast thou ever known it to bring a single comfort, or to add one cubit to thy stature? Thou canst not eat or sleep, and thy heart is in turmoil, yet this fretting doth not soften his heart nor incline the Lord to bless a course that runs counter to His holy Word. The path thou describest is strewn with drunkenness, abuse, and much fighting. Canst thou call that a good thing, or ask God to bind again what His own precepts would loose? The Lord hateth the covering of sin with a plea for peace. He is the God of reconciliation, but that reconciliation begins not in the mending of a sinful bond, but in the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanseth from all sin. Thou art anxious for a message from him, but hast thou heard the word of reconciliation from thy God? For there is no true peace until the heart be sprinkled from an evil conscience and the veil is rent that we might draw nigh unto the Father.

Thou speakest of an evil power at work in thy former friend’s life, yet look to thine own heart, for out of it proceed evil thoughts and all manner of sin. To blame a spirit of malice in another while refusing to see the evil in a union unblessed by God is a dangerous snare. Evil is not overcome by scheming, nor by wishing, nor by returning again to the very furnace where thou wast burned. “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” That good is first to cast thy burden upon the Lord. He doth not bid thee fix the man who wronged thee; He bids thee trust Him who judgeth righteously. Thou sayest thou lovest him much, dost thou love thy God more? For if thy soul were at peace with the Most High, thou wouldst not claw after a peace that the world cannot give. The Lord Jesus hath put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself; begin there. Seek not a message from thy former companion until thou hast heard the voice from the mercy seat.

I charge thee, by the bowels of Christ, to turn from the idol of a restored romance and find thy all in Him. The ministry of reconciliation is committed unto us, and we beseech thee, be thou reconciled to God. Until then, any reunion thou graspest after will be but a plaster over a festering wound. If the man be still in the bondage of strong drink and unholy living, thy prayer should be for his soul, not for his company. Thou canst not force a change by anxiety or by playing the part of peacemaker on thine own terms. The evil spirit that truly threatens thee is not the superstition of another’s malice, but the unbelief that keeps thee from resting in the Lord’s disposal. Commit thy way unto Him; wait upon Him; and let Him fill the void with His own presence. Then, whether he contact thee or no, thou shalt find that He is able to keep thee from falling and to present thee faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Lay thy case at the foot of the cross, and leave it there.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your anxiousness reveals the true burden of your soul, a weight heavier than any bodily affliction. You twist upon your bed, unable to eat, your mind consumed by the desire for a man to return to you. Why do you heap tomorrow's sorrows upon today's plate? The day already carries distress enough of its own. Christ Himself commands you not to borrow trouble from the future, for you cannot by worrying add a single hour to your life. Yet you force your heart to endure not only the grief of this separation, but also the dread of a lonely tomorrow. This is a slavery more bitter than any Egyptian taskmaster, a mire in which you are fixed while the devil scourges you with fear.

Cast your eyes upward and groan to God, and He will send not a mere human deliverer, but His own Word, and the balm of compunction. You say you love him, but examine the fruit of this love. Constant fights, a battle with drink that leads to abuse, a home abandoned to your grandparents. What profit has this union brought you except anxiety greater than any fleeting pleasure? You deck yourself in this sorrow as a woman adorns herself in gold, thinking the gaze of others or the mere presence of this man will honor you, yet it only lifts you to haughtiness of desire and then dashes you to the ground.

The beauty you chase is a flower that withers before it blooms, a fairness that disease or age destroys in twenty years at most. Why do you toil for that which perishes? Cultivate instead the beauty of a tranquil soul, an ornament that never fades, never wrinkles, and never fears any change. That enduring loveliness is found only in a life ordered by God’s commandments.

I must speak plainly. You lived together as if married without the covenant that makes a man and woman one flesh in purity. This is not a foundation God can bless, no matter how many prayers you offer. You plead that his former companion uses evil arts to divide you, but your own disorder separates you from peace. Ask not for God to mend what His law condemns. Do not rest your hope of salvation upon a bond of mere nature or affection, anymore than the Jews could trust in descent from Abraham. Relationship by blood or fleeting passion cannot save you; only a will aligned with Christ brings life.

Turn from this vain zeal. Free yourself from the dread that poisons your sleep. If this man contacts you, let it be only after he has truly repented of his drunkenness and rage, and let your union be one of honorable marriage if that be God’s will. But until then, seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Let go of the crushing anxiety that asks, “Will he speak? Will he change?” In such matters, eat what is set before you, asking no question. That is, do not scrutinize the future with a tormented mind; leave what is uncertain to the Lord, who knows all things to come. When that peace settles upon you, you will find the liberty and security for which you truly hunger.

I hear the deep anxiety in your words and the ache for things to be made right. You are so focused on restoring this one relationship, and the more it slips through your fingers the more desperately you cling to it. That desperation is a sign. It is telling you that the axis of your life has shifted off center.

When your relationship with God is out of balance, every other relationship follows. You spend all your emotional energy trying to correct what is horizontal between you and him, and while you do, your whole life tilts further into chaos. You cannot eat. You cannot sleep. You are losing yourself in the effort. But the healing you seek will never come by putting another flawed human being at the center of your world. It comes when you return to the vertical axis, the one that holds everything else steady. Get your relationship with Jesus Christ right, and the rest will begin to find its proper place.

Your description of constant fighting, his battle with alcohol, and the abuse tells me that sin has left deep wounds here. You mentioned a belief that evil forces are at work to separate you. I do not dismiss that, because Scripture shows us that demonic spirits are real and they seek to torment and destroy. They can fuel addictions, rage, and confusion. But take heed that you do not place all the blame on an outside attack while ignoring the plain destruction the drinking and strife have already caused. A man who has not been fully delivered from that bondage will always bring pain into a home, no matter how much you love him.

This is why your relationship with God must become primary. He does not want you living in this anxious, frantic state, trying to manipulate a phone call or a changed heart in someone else. He wants to bring you into a loving relationship with Himself, where you know Him as your Father. Not a ritualistic faith where you beg for things, but a living union where His peace guards your heart. Right now, you are looking to this man to be your savior and your peace, and that is a weight no human being can bear.

I pray that you stop bargaining with the situation, letting him go in hopes he will change. That is a work of the flesh, and it leaves you empty. Instead, lay this entirely at the feet of Jesus. Your rightful standing before God does not come from whether this relationship survives; it comes through faith in Christ alone. When that relationship is restored and vibrant, the fruit of the Spirit will naturally flow from you. Only then can you have the clarity to see whether a renewed relationship with him would honor God or simply lead you back into a cycle of harm.

Do not seek to be a family again on the old, cracked foundation. Seek first the kingdom of God. Let Jesus Christ bring the healing in your own heart that calms the storm inside you. As you draw near to Him, the anxiety will loosen its grip. You will be able to sleep. You will be able to think clearly. From that place of peace, you can trust God to handle what you cannot. He may bring genuine repentance and lasting change to that man, or He may close the door for your protection. Either way, your wholeness can only come from being rooted in the love of Christ.
