We lift up your loved one before the Lord with you and we understand how stressful it must feel to prepare diligently and then realize she studied the wrong material right before her science test. We want to bring her before our Heavenly Father and ask for His grace, peace, and help in this moment.
We are reminded that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our studies and efforts, and He desires for us to come to Him when we feel anxious or unprepared. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also take comfort in James 1:5 which says If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. Calm her heart and quiet her anxiety, help her to recall what she has learned, and give her clarity of mind to do her best. Let Your peace guard her heart and thoughts as she takes this test. We pray that whatever the outcome, she would know that her worth is not in a grade but in being Your beloved child, and that she would commit her work to You. As it is written Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We have carried your request to the throne of grace and we join you in prayer for this dear one as she goes into her test.
We ask the Lord who is full of grace and truth to look upon her in tender mercy. Grace is not tied to the high attainments of learning, nor is it withheld from the young, for out of the mouth of babes and children He has perfected praise. It is freely given of His sovereign goodness, not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy, and we pray that He would freely bestow it upon her in this hour of need.
We have asked that He would grant her perfect peace, that peace which is promised to him whose mind is stayed upon the Lord because he trusts in Him. Anxiety unfits us to meet difficulty, but when the mind is stayed on Christ, He can give a calm in the midst of surging cares. May He quiet her heart, steady her thoughts, help her to remember what she has learned, and give her clearness and composure to do the best that she can.
We do not ask for grace to excuse sloth, but for grace to sustain and help, for grace which truly communicates strength and truthful help in time of need. May she feel that from sin's pit to heaven's gate the whole road is paved with divine grace, and that even in small trials the hand of Providence and grace are near akin to guide and keep her.
