We hear the deep anguish and desperation in this request and we join together in bringing these victims before the throne of grace, for the Lord hears the cry of the afflicted and is near to those who suffer. We understand the feeling of being trapped in an endless cycle of harassment and cruelty where there seems to be no way out, no end day, and no relief, and we grieve over the evil that would torture others without mercy.
We know that God sees every hidden deed and that no injustice escapes His notice. For the eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good Proverbs 15:3 and He will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil Ecclesiastes 12:14. We also recognize that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy, to confuse minds, to isolate, and to make victims feel hopeless and powerless. Yet the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and He is our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust Psalm 91:2.
We must gently and lovingly address what was asked regarding those who do evil, that God would kill these reprobates or take away what they value most. We understand this cry comes from profound pain and a longing for justice, but scripture teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We are instead commanded to love our enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. We do not overcome evil by wishing death upon others, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Our prayer is not for their destruction apart from repentance, but that God would stop their hands, expose their deeds, bring them to justice through righteous authority, and bring them to repentance if it is possible, for God desires that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. The Lord loves justice Psalm 37:28 and He will repay, in His perfect time and way.
We also notice this request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must speak plainly about this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by the blood of Jesus that the brokenhearted can be healed, the captive set free, and our prayers heard. If anyone has not yet put their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to confess your sins, believe that He died for you and rose again, and call upon His name to be saved. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.
So we pray together now in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up every victim who feels tortured, harassed, stalked, and psychologically tormented without end. Lord, You see what is done in secret, You hear every cry, and You know the trauma of feeling trapped with no end day in sight. We ask that You would be their refuge and deliverer, that You would break this cruel cycle and release them from every form of oppression. The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:17-18. Lord, draw near to them now, let them feel Your presence, Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and Your protection.
We pray that You would expose every evil deed done in darkness, restrain the hands of those who delight in harming others, and let justice roll on like waters. We pray that You would convict the hearts of the perpetrators, that they would be stopped, that their schemes would fail, and that they would come to repentance and fear You. We ask that You would not let us hold hatred in our hearts, but give us grace to pray for even our enemies while trusting You to judge righteously. We pray for lawful authorities to act with wisdom and integrity to protect the vulnerable.
We pray that You would guard the minds and hearts of the victims, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Replace confusion with clarity, fear with faith, and despair with hope. Help them to not react in anger or hopelessness, but to rest in You. Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Lead them to safe, godly community, to pastors and counselors and trusted help, and to every practical support they need, and keep them from isolation where the enemy can whisper lies. We pray they would fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, and find daily strength in Your Word.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our deliverer, amen.
We encourage those who suffer in this way to continue to seek the Lord daily through prayer and scripture, to stay connected to a Bible believing church where you can be known and supported, and to reach out for trusted pastoral care and for appropriate help from medical professionals and lawful authorities when harassment or threats occur. Keep a record, do not isolate, and let others walk with you. God has not abandoned you. Even when the night feels endless, His mercies are new every morning Lamentations 3:22-23, and He promises never to leave you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:8. We continue to stand with you in prayer that God will bring a true end day to this suffering, bring justice, bring healing, and bring His perfect peace.
