We join with you in bringing your severe back pain before our Heavenly Father, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. We know how debilitating and discouraging constant pain can be, and we ask God to surround you with His comfort and healing presence right now.
We are reminded of what Scripture tells us about our God as our healer and comforter. Psalm 103:2-3 says to praise Yahweh and not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Isaiah 53:5 reminds us that by his wounds we are healed. We also cling to the promise in Psalm 34:18 that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and to Jesus' own invitation in Matthew 11:28 to come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up our dear one who is suffering with severe back pain and we ask for Your mercy and healing touch in Jesus' name. Lord, You know the source of this pain and the discomfort it brings to every moment of the day and night. We ask that You would bring relief, restore what is injured or inflamed, and grant Your perfect healing according to Your will. We claim Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that You will restore health and heal wounds. We ask for Your comfort to guard this heart and mind, to give peace that surpasses understanding and to grant restful sleep and strength for each day. Guide any doctors or treatment that may be needed and grant wisdom to make good decisions for stewardship of the body You have given. Help our friend to cast all anxiety on You because You care, as taught in 1 Peter 5:7, and to trust that Your grace is sufficient even in weakness, as You told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9. We ask all of this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word while you wait on His healing, and also to seek wise medical counsel if you have not already done so, for God often works through the skill of physicians as well. Keep trusting that He hears you, that He loves you, and that He is near to you in this trial. James 5:15 tells us the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We will continue to stand with you, believing God for your comfort and restoration.

Your affliction has been laid before the Lord and we join with you in seeking His mercy in Jesus name.
We hear your cry concerning severe pain of the back, and we take comfort in that word which saith, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. It is the Lord Himself who bids His people to be comforted, and He often sends comfort by the hand of His people and by the bright ministry of His Spirit. You are not forgotten in this trial. The Lord who sees the sparrow fall sees your pain and is near to them that are of a contrite heart.
There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaf also shall not wither, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Look up to this Tree of Life even now in your sickness, for you may come and partake. There is no flaming sword to keep you back. Come in faith to Christ, who bore our infirmities and who still pities His people.
We are reminded also that this is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me. The believer has a peculiar comfort and it comes from a peculiar source. The Lord does not always give comfort by a distinct and sudden act alone, but He quickens us by His Word and so we obtain comfort. When trial becomes exceedingly severe, other comforts fail, but the Word of God abides. May the Spirit of God teach you to say of that priceless Word, This is my comfort in my affliction. Let the promises be your stay, that He will temper the trial to your weakness and make your pain less as your strength is less, and that He will establish your heart in every good word and work.
Our prayer for you is this, that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God even our Father, who hath loved us, would comfort your heart and establish you. We ask the Lord that He would lay His healing hand upon your body according to His wise and gracious will, that He would ease your pain, grant skill to those who care for you, and give you patience and peace while you wait upon Him. And above all we pray that He would quicken your soul by His Word, that you may find joy even in affliction and know that whether in health or in pain, you are in the hands of Him who loved you and gave Himself for you.

We have received your request and we join with you in prayer to our merciful God for your healing and comfort.
The Scriptures tell us that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, and that as sufferings abound, so also comfort abounds through Christ. Whatever is written was written for our instruction, that through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures we might have hope. The divine Scriptures are a treasury of medicines, able to help us despise pain, inspire confidence, and gain patience.
We remember the man who was paralyzed for thirty eight years and never fell into despair, but waited with great patience and gentleness, and the Lord in His mercy made him whole. We remember also how the Lord touched Peter's mother in law and not only quenched her fever but gave her back perfect health at once, showing His power to heal fully and immediately. He is able to do the same for you, and He is also near to comfort you while you wait upon Him.
Let us pray together:

I am praying for you as you walk through this severe back pain, asking God to bring His healing and His comfort to you in Jesus name.
Scripture calls Him the God of all comfort, the One who comforts those who are cast down and discouraged and who are going through hard places and dark nights. The apostle Paul knew this from his own afflictions. He learned that in his deepest trials the Lord stood by him to strengthen and encourage him, even when he was tossed in a long storm without seeing the sun for many days. That same presence is for you now. He will stand by you to comfort you, to strengthen you and to speak peace to your heart in the midst of pain.
I also join you in praying for healing. I believe God heals today and that He is able. Sometimes He heals in a moment, and sometimes He heals gradually through the healing processes He Himself placed within our bodies. Both are from Him, and every true healing is divine because He is the Creator of our bodies and of every natural process that restores them. Much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some experience immediate relief and others experience a slower recovery, but we can trust His wisdom and His love and rest in His perfect will for us.
My prayer is that you would know His nearness in a real way, that the Holy Spirit would comfort and sustain you, and that God would bring healing to your back according to His grace. May He ease your pain, renew your strength, and fill your mind and heart with His peace as you submit your life and your body into His caring hands. I ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting Him to do what is best for you. Amen.
