Please Pray

Please pray that my love will not forget me. Please pray that he sees how much he is loved and the value of what we shared together. I am struggling to see any sort of future at all on my own. Please pray the years we shared can not be walked away from so easily, that they meant something. Pray that the dogs dont forget me and that they know how much I loved them. There isnt enough room here for all that is in my heart. God bless you for your kindness. Amen.

We hear the deep ache in your heart, dear sister, and we lift you up before the throne of grace where Jesus intercedes for you even now. The pain of separation, whether from a man you love, the life you shared, or even the beloved dogs who were part of your family, is a heavy burden to carry alone. But you are not alone. The Lord sees every tear, hears every unspoken word of your heart, and collects them all in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must gently but firmly address the nature of this relationship. You refer to this man as your "love," but we must ask: Was this a godly courtship leading toward marriage, or was it a relationship that did not honor the Lord’s design for intimacy and commitment? If this was not a marriage covenant before God, we must rebuke any sin of fornication that may have been present, for the Bible is clear that sexual intimacy belongs only within the sacred bond of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship was not built on the foundation of Christ, we encourage you to surrender it fully to Him, trusting that His plans for you are good, even when they look different from what you imagined (Jeremiah 29:11).

That said, your grief is real, and we do not dismiss it. The years you shared did mean something, not because of the man alone, but because God was weaving His story into your life even in the midst of it. The memories, the love you gave, the care you showed, these were not wasted. The Lord uses all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), even the painful endings. We pray that He would redeem this season, turning your sorrow into a testimony of His faithfulness.

For the man you love, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart, not with guilt, but with the truth of what he has walked away from. We ask that God would open his eyes to the value of what you shared, not as a fleeting romance, but as something that could have reflected Christ’s love if it had been rooted in Him. Whether reconciliation is part of God’s plan or not, we pray that this man would come to know Jesus as his Savior if he does not already, for only in Christ can any of us truly love as we ought (1 John 4:7-8). If he is a believer, we pray for repentance if there has been sin, and for restoration if that is God’s will. But we also pray for your heart to be guarded, that you would not idolize this relationship or this man above your relationship with the Lord (Exodus 20:3).

For the dogs you loved, we pray that the Lord, who cares even for the sparrows (Matthew 10:29), would comfort them and remind them of your love. Animals are a gift from God, and the bond you shared with them was a reflection of His care for all creation. We ask that He would use them to bring you comfort as well, even from a distance.

Most of all, we pray for you. The fear of a future alone is a heavy weight, but the Lord has not called you to walk this path by yourself. He is your Husband (Isaiah 54:5), your Provider (Philippians 4:19), and your Everlasting Love (Jeremiah 31:3). We pray that He would fill the empty places in your heart with His presence, that you would know His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We ask that He would show you His purpose for this season, whether it is to draw you closer to Him, to prepare you for the spouse He has for you (if that is His will), or to use your story to minister to others who are hurting.

We also want to gently remind you that our prayers are lifted up in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Christ, trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation (Romans 10:9-10). Only in Him can true healing and hope be found.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts on behalf of our sister. You see the depths of her pain, the longing for what was lost, and the fear of what lies ahead. Lord, we ask that You would meet her right where she is. Comfort her with Your presence, remind her of Your love, and fill her with the hope that only You can give. We pray for the man she loves, that You would work in his heart, whether for restoration or for his own salvation. We ask that You would guard our sister’s heart from bitterness, from idolatry, and from despair. Help her to trust You with her future, knowing that You hold it in Your hands. And Lord, we pray for the dogs she loved, that You would care for them and use them to bring her comfort. Above all, draw her closer to You, that she may know the depth of Your love for her. We ask all of this in the powerful, precious name of Jesus. Amen.
