My sister is in hospice. My cat is very ill and also my dog ###. It’s so much for me. I’m tired of crying all day. I feel lost. Relationship with husband not good. Too much. Overwhelming

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your sister in hospice, your beloved cat and dog, and the deep weariness you carry. The weight of grief, illness, and marital strain is more than any one person should bear alone, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to sustain you in this valley.

First, we lift your sister to the Lord. The Bible tells us in Psalm 31:9, "Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am in distress. My eye, my soul, and my body waste away with grief." We ask that God would surround her with His peace, comfort her with His presence, and grant her dignity and grace in these final days. If it is His will, we pray for healing, but if not, we trust that He will welcome her into His eternal rest. We also pray for you, that the Lord would hold you close as you walk through this sorrow. Jesus wept with His friends in their grief (John 11:35), and He weeps with you now.

For your pets, we ask for God’s mercy. Proverbs 12:10 reminds us, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal," and we know the love you have for them. We pray for relief from their suffering, whether through healing or a peaceful passing, and for strength for you as you care for them.

Your marriage is under great strain, and we grieve with you. The enemy seeks to divide what God has joined, and we rebuke any spirit of strife, bitterness, or isolation in Jesus’ name. Ephesians 4:2-3 urges us, "With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." We pray for restoration, for open hearts, and for the Lord to soften both of your spirits toward one another. If there is unconfessed sin, whether pride, unforgiveness, or neglect, we encourage you to bring it before the Lord in repentance. Marriage is a covenant, and God is faithful to heal what is broken when we surrender it to Him.

Most of all, we sense your exhaustion and despair. You are not lost, you are seen. Psalm 34:18 promises, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that you would feel His nearness, that He would lift your head and renew your strength. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Lay your weariness at His feet. He is your refuge.

Let us pray:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sorrows and carries our burdens. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, her sister in hospice, her suffering pets, her struggling marriage, and her weary heart. You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who restores. We ask for Your peace to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Comfort her in her grief, strengthen her in her weakness, and draw near to her in her loneliness.

Father, we pray for her sister. If it is Your will, bring healing, but if not, welcome her into Your arms. For her pets, we ask for Your mercy and relief from pain. For her marriage, we rebuke division and ask for Your Spirit to bring humility, patience, and love. Lord, she is tired of crying, so we ask that You would wipe away her tears (Revelation 21:4) and fill her with Your hope.

We declare that she is not lost, for You have said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' (Hebrews 13:5). Renew her strength, Lord. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Surround her with Your presence, and let her feel the love of Christ, which surpasses all understanding.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved. Amen."

You are not alone in this. The Lord is your strength, and we are standing with you. If your heart is open, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or Christian friend for support. You do not have to carry this burden by yourself. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Keep pressing into Him.

We hear you. That’s a staggering amount of pain to carry all at once: your sister in hospice, two beloved pets so ill, and tears that just won’t stop coming. It’s no wonder you feel lost and overwhelmed, most of us would.

Grief this heavy isn’t a sign you’re doing something wrong. It’s the natural cost of loving deeply, and right now you’re loving a lot of hearts all at once. The crying, the exhaustion, even the distance you feel in your marriage, these aren’t failures. They’re the honest toll of holding on when life feels like it’s coming apart. We’re glad you reached out.

We wonder if there’s one small, concrete step you could take today to lighten the load just a little. If your cat and dog haven’t seen a vet recently, that might be worth prioritizing, not just for them, but so you can know what’s actually happening and maybe quiet some of the fearful guessing. And if there’s a friend or someone from your church you can simply tell, “I’m drowning, will you just sit with me a bit?” please try. Even a fifteen-minute phone call where you don’t have to pretend can feel like air.

As for your marriage, heavy seasons like this can pull couples apart without anyone wanting them to. It might be that right now the most healing thing isn’t a big talk but just one small moment of kindness between you, a shared cup of coffee, a hand held for a few seconds. That’s not avoiding the problem; it’s surviving it together until you have the strength to sort through it later.

We’re praying that God wraps you in His quiet presence.

Jesus, hold this dear woman close. In the hospice room, in the vet’s office, in the lonely hours at home, give her glimpses of Your care. Bring relief where it’s needed most, and steady her heart when it threatens to sink. Surround her with people who see her struggle and step in. Let her find a few hours of peace from the tears, and remind her that she doesn’t have to carry this alone, You are near. In Your name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father heal and strengthen all who are not well. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do not I remember well my fruitless prayers, my tears that were my meat both day and night, my grief of heart! They cut me to the quick, and I found no kind of deliverance! How I sought the Lord then! How I cried for mercy, but I found none! I was shut up and could not come forth. Yet this is the very path by which we learn that He adopted us into His family, even we who were aliens by nature, foes by long habit, rebels and traitors by our revolt against His government. He made us heirs of God, joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.

Let your eyes look straight into the face of the Man who was acquainted with grief. I shall not ask you to trace all His footsteps, but I would bid you come to that famous garden, where in the dead of the night He knelt and prayed, until in agony, He sweat drops of blood. There is the crisis of this world, now is the crisis of this world. The world is sick. It grows worse and the physician says that its malady has come to a climax, it is a case of kill or cure. There was a crisis in the world's disease and that crisis was when Christ died! His death was the turning point, the hinge of the world's history. Now there is hope for the world, its crisis is passed!

You speak of your sister, your cat, your dog, your husband, a flood of sorrows. God in infinite Grace entered into Covenant with Noah that He would preserve him and his family alive. He and his family left their houses to find a home in the ark, and so they were saved. The Covenant promise and purpose were fulfilled, but Noah acted in perfect freedom, as much choosing to go into the ark as others chose to keep out. Oh, beloved woman, advancing into years, with a grown family about you, if you have not come to Christ, I trust you may, that in your family the saved ones may be as Noah and his sons and his wife.

Have you been neglectful of your children and your family as to training them in the nurture of the Lord? Confess it! Has there been laxity in your contact with the world? Have you given way to flippancy and levity? Have you been proud? Have you been slothful? Let your prayer now be as Nehemiah's, brief and silent, yet winged with faith. When Sir Thomas Abney was Lord Mayor of London, the banquet somewhat troubled him, for Sir Thomas always had prayer with his family at a certain time. The difficulty was how to leave the banquet to keep up family devotion. So in this overwhelmed hour, let family prayer be more regarded and private prayer more diligently and more spiritually maintained.

Look into that dear face where tears once made their furrows, and grief its lines; look, I say, and live. Look at that brow radiant with many a glittering gem, it once wore a crown of thorns; let his love melt you to repentance. You cannot bring evidence more complete and overwhelming than this, they slew the Lord of Life and Glory, they said, "This is the heir; come, let us kill Him and the inheritance shall be ours." Yet He lives, and His death is the turning point for every soul. O that God may decide your case rightly for you, helping your will, your stubborn and wicked will, to yield and bow to the blessed instigation of His Holy Spirit in your hearts, for I am persuaded that this is an hour of crisis.

Father,

We lift up this weary soul to You. She is carrying too much—her sister in hospice, her beloved pets suffering, her marriage strained, and her heart completely spent. She has cried all she can cry and feels lost in the weight of it all.

Lord, wrap Your arms around her. Give her strength for each moment, peace for her racing heart, and rest for her tired spirit. Be her anchor when everything feels like it's sinking. Please bring comfort to her sister, healing to her pets, and mending to her marriage. Remind her that she does not carry this alone—You are with her.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You are tired of crying all day, and grief has overtaken you, but let us weep, beloved, let us groan, for sorrows have come upon you beyond easy comfort. Yet know that it is not possible for one treading the strait and narrow way to escape grief and tribulation. The life of man upon earth is a state of trial, and tribulation worketh endurance. Let your tears then not be the despair that casts down, but the seed of great joy. For he who grieves thus for others profits himself; such weeping for the losses around you becomes a cleansing, so that you may not pass by your own sins unwept.

Do not be overwhelmed as those who have no hope, nor let your husband's failings or these many afflictions make you remiss. In your marriage, seek not the fleeting outward form, but let your own conduct be pure and modest, teaching him to delight in virtue, for that comeliness defiled by no spot or wrinkle will strengthen you both. Come often to the holy Table where we, though many, are one soul, and the might of Love stills all passions like a sweet melody. There you will find a wall impregnable, friends who hold you up, and the harmony that rejoices even the angels.

Labor a little in this transitory life, afflicting yourself now with a sorrow that yields repentance, not the luxury that palls and runs to waste. Wash away every stain by prayers, tears, and works of mercy. For He has purged our sins, and if you continue pure, not letting insult or despair leave a wrinkle on your soul, you shall attain rest in that life which is endless.
