Please pray

Beloved of All
My dad doesn’t get sick from his diabetes again. My mom stops being nagging. My dad stops being like the devil aggravating. Everything will beget better in our house. Dad will stop being autistic and everyone gets closer to God and behaves like Jesus.

We hear your heart’s cry for peace, healing, and restoration in your family, and we come before the Lord with you in earnest prayer. Your burdens are heavy, and we stand with you, lifting each concern to the Father who loves you deeply and desires wholeness for your home.

First, we must address the language used in your request regarding your father’s behavior. Scripture is clear that no one is to be compared to the devil, for Satan is the father of lies and the enemy of our souls (John 8:44). While we understand your frustration and pain, we must rebuke this comparison in Jesus’ name. Your father is a man created in God’s image, flawed and in need of grace, just as we all are. We pray for his heart to be softened, for his mind to be renewed, and for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in him. We also pray for you to release bitterness or resentment, for the Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). Let us not give the enemy a foothold in your home through unchecked anger or words that tear down rather than build up (Ephesians 4:29).

Regarding your father’s diabetes, we lift him up to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We pray for his body to be strengthened, for his blood sugar to stabilize, and for wisdom for his doctors and caregivers. We declare that by His stripes, your father is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust God to work mightily in his physical health. We also ask the Lord to give your father the discipline and self-control to manage his health in a way that honors God, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

For your mother, we pray for her heart to be filled with peace and patience. Nagging often comes from a place of fear or frustration, and we ask the Lord to replace her anxiety with trust in Him. May she find her strength and hope in the Lord (Isaiah 40:31) and speak words of life and encouragement to your father and to you. We pray for her to model the gentle and quiet spirit that is precious in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:4), and for her to find her identity and security in Christ alone.

You also mentioned your father’s behavior in a way that suggests autism, and we want to gently remind you that autism is not a sin or a spiritual condition, it is a neurological difference that God can use for His glory. Rather than praying for it to "stop," we pray for your father to experience God’s grace in his unique wiring, for patience and understanding to abound in your family, and for the Lord to help each of you see one another through His eyes. May your home be a place where love covers a multitude of differences (1 Peter 4:8), and where each person is valued as a beloved child of God.

Above all, we pray for your family to draw closer to God and to one another. Jesus said, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35). We ask the Lord to soften hearts, break down walls of pride or resentment, and fill your home with His presence. May your family be a light to others, showing the world what it looks like to walk in forgiveness, humility, and love. We pray for unity in your home, that you may be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment (1 Corinthians 1:10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon the father’s body, that his diabetes would be managed and his health restored. We pray for wisdom for his doctors and for discipline in his choices. Father, we also ask for Your peace to fill this home. Soften the hearts of the mother and father, replacing frustration with patience, nagging with encouragement, and anger with love. Help each member of this family to see one another through Your eyes, to extend grace as You have extended grace to us.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of division, bitterness, or resentment in this home. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and we pray for unity, love, and understanding to abound. Help them to forgive one another as You have forgiven them, and to walk in humility and gentleness. Father, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to move powerfully in their lives, drawing each of them closer to You. May they seek You first in all things, and may their home be a place where Your presence dwells.

We pray for the father’s heart to be transformed, that he would not be controlled by anger or frustration but would be led by Your Spirit. Help him to model Christ-like behavior, showing love, patience, and kindness to his family. We pray for the mother to find her strength in You, to trust You with her concerns, and to speak words that build up rather than tear down. Lord, we ask for Your peace to reign in this home, for joy to replace frustration, and for love to cover all things.

We declare that this family will grow closer to You and to one another. May they be a testimony of Your grace and power, showing the world what it looks like to walk in forgiveness and love. We trust You, Lord, to work in their lives, and we thank You for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises, even when circumstances feel overwhelming. The enemy would love to keep your family divided, but God is greater. Continue to seek Him, to pray for one another, and to extend grace, even when it’s difficult. Remember, "Love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8), and it is through love that we reflect Christ to the world. Keep pressing into the Lord, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone, we stand with you in prayer, and God is with you always.

We’re joining you in lifting up your family right now. It sounds like there’s a lot weighing on you, worry over your dad’s diabetes, the strain of irritation and nagging at home, and a deep longing for things to feel peaceful and for everyone to draw closer to God. That’s a heavy burden to carry alone, and we’re grateful you shared it so we can stand with you.

We pray your dad’s health stays stable, and we also want to gently encourage something: if he hasn’t already checked in with his doctor recently, that could be a wise next step alongside prayer. Managing diabetes well often takes a team, and proper medical support can bring real relief, not instead of prayer, but as part of it.

In the middle of the tension, it might help to think about what you personally can influence. You can’t control how your mom or dad respond, but you can bring your own heart to God each day and ask Him to fill you with patience and gentle words, even when things are sharp. Sometimes one person’s calm consistency becomes a small anchor for the whole house. Change in a family is rarely instant; it’s more like a slow, upturning journey where God works through ordinary moments, a kind word, a prayer whispered before answering a sharp tone, a grace-filled silence.

We’re not praying that your dad stop being autistic as though that’s a flaw God needs to remove; we pray instead that he’d feel loved and understood, and that your whole family would learn how to support one another well. We’re praying for a growing softness and for God’s nearness to be real in your home. Even when progress feels invisible, He is at work.

Let’s pray together:

Lord Jesus, we bring this family before You. Watch over this dad’s body, guard him from diabetic complications and give him wisdom in caring for his health. Bring real peace into their home: quiet the aggravating words, soften the nagging, and replace irritation with patience. Help each person to see the others through Your eyes. Draw them all nearer to Yourself, and teach them to live like You, serving, forgiving, and loving. Hold this one who reached out, and give them hope that their home can be different, step by step. In Your name we pray, Amen.

The cry of your heart ascends for a quieted home, a healed ###, a gentle ###, and for every soul within your walls to walk in the steps of Jesus. Yet mark well, there is a peace that the world gives, a slumbering stupor where conscience lies still, and men say, "Peace, peace," where there is no peace. The peace which you must seek first is not the mere ceasing of outward turmoil, but the peace which is a blessing from God, the treaty signed with the blood of Christ and published in the soul by the Holy Spirit. He Himself is our peace. Not our own repentances, not our teeth-gritting resolves, not the mere hope that sickness and sharp words will end, but Christ alone is the foundation upon which solid peace is laid. If your ###, ###, and all your house are to behave like Jesus, their hearts must first be at peace with God through Jesus. There is no other name, no other way. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in the midnight of this world of care, and that whisper alone has power to still the devil’s aggravation and the flesh’s nagging.

You speak of one who shows the manner of the “###,” and of another who stings with words, these storms are but surface swellings of a deeper disquiet. The heart that is not stayed upon Jehovah cannot have the perfect peace promised to the mind fixed on Him. To expect a man to cease from grievous reactions or a woman to cease from nagging without a new nature within is to look for fruit where no tree grows. The patience you need in that house is not the brute beast’s inability to feel, nor the stoic’s refusal to weep; it is the patience produced by the Scriptures, the patience of a child who believes in his Father’s love, of a soldier who expects stern fighting before victory, of a pilgrim who pushes on toward Home. That patience is wrought under the discipline of Christ. As soon as we are saved, we come under that discipline. The soul that is justified by faith begins to be sanctified, and the home that is a little vineyard becomes the first field of the Home Missionary’s labor. Our Lord Himself went about doing good among His own. So must you now, having been yourself comforted, go about doing good within those walls, first in prayer, then with wet eyes and a gentle tongue, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, even if no word is spoken. You must be the one, having obtained mercy, who brings the sweet influence of a stayed mind into that troubled atmosphere.

Let the prayer, then, be this: not only that the sickness stays away and the grating words cease, but that every soul in your house, yourself included, falls upon the cornerstone that is Christ. Let the cry be that God would send His Word running swiftly into your borders, making peace there, and bringing the true piety of every member, so that the bars of your gates are strengthened and you are filled with the finest of the wheat. For health at home precedes true prosperity abroad. What can come from that house to bless the world if it is gnawed from within by a false peace and an unbroken will? The Lord Jesus, in His endless, boundless peace, waits to bless His people with it. Bring your ###'s ###, your ###'s tongue, your own sore heart, bring them to the Crucified One and leave them there. Look to His wounds and they will stream with mercy for every household grief. Then shall you see that even with sorrows surging round, a perfect peace may settle within, because in Jesus’ keeping you are safe, and they. Press on then, not seeking mere ease, but first seeking Him. He is our peace, today, tomorrow, and evermore.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The turmoil within your home weighs heavily upon you, and rightly so, for where there is strife, the soul has no rest. Yet know this: God is not a God of war and fighting. He calls you to make war and fighting to cease, both that which is against Him and that which is against your neighbor. Nothing so much delights Him as to remember no evil. If your father acts in ways that resemble the devil’s aggravating, and your mother’s words grate upon your spirit, consider first what our Lord said: “Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” Do not fix your gaze so intently upon their faults that you overlook your own. The path to peace begins with humbling yourself before God, for where enmities are produced by conflict, from enmity springs remembrance of evil, and that makes us far off from God.

Do not be anxious about the future, for the Lord is at hand. In everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Yes, give thanks even for these afflictions, for this is the part of the truly thankful man, and such prayers God acknowledges. Ask Him to guard your father’s health and to quiet the storms within your house, but ask also for the grace to bear with one another in love. The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. What is this peace? It is that reconciliation which surpasses all thought, that while we were enemies, Christ died for us to make peace. If He could reconcile us to Himself, how much more can He heal the breaches within a family?

Imitate the Son of God, who came to set at peace the things in earth and the things in heaven. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Make it your aim to be at peace with your parents, even when their conduct seems warring. The more they war against you, by so much the greater will be your reward, for “with the haters of peace I was peaceful.” This virtue is above man’s understanding, and it maketh us near to God. Let your forbearance be known to all, not just outside your home but within it. When you pray, ask for the Angel of Peace to visit your dwelling, for peace is the mother of all good things, the foundation of joy. Where peace is wanting, everything is useless. If you would have your father cease from his ways and your mother from her nagging, and if you long for your whole household to draw closer to God and behave like Christ, then let peace be your first pursuit. For God hath called us to peace, and by it earth becomes heaven. Stand firm in prayer, give thanks in all things, and the God of peace Himself will work what you cannot.

It's clear that you love your family and long for peace and wholeness under your roof. That ache for harmony is not something to dismiss; it's a cry for the kingdom of God to break into your home, and Jesus himself taught us to pray for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. So I do join you in asking the Lord to bring health, calm, and Christlike love into every corner of your household.

Healing takes many forms. Jesus sometimes spoke a word and a person was made whole in an instant. Other times he set a gradual process in motion, or told someone to go on with life while the healing unfolded. Both are his work. We should never despise the slower path, because God designed the body with remarkable restorative processes that reflect his wisdom and care. Even if a diabetic episode doesn't vanish in a moment, steady management, good medicine, and daily protection are still divine kindness. So we can pray not only for a crisis to pass, but for God to guide your father's treatment, give him discipline, and strengthen his body over time.

Healing also reaches deeper than the physical. You mentioned ways people act and react, nagging, agitation, friction. Jesus carried our griefs and infirmities, and that includes the emotional and mental wounds that make relationships hard. He can soothe a sharp tongue. He can quiet an anxious or aggravated spirit. Ask him to heal the scars and frustrations that feed those patterns. In your own heart, ask for the grace to respond with kindness even when it's tough. Adversity in a family can be met with love, and that love is a powerful witness of the Holy Spirit at work.

You want your dad to stop being autistic. I understand that you're desperate for ease in your home, and I don't doubt that comes from genuine care. But I'd gently encourage you to think less in terms of erasing how God knit him together and more in terms of asking for God's strength in the areas that cause struggle. The goal isn't to make everyone the same; it's to see each person transformed into the likeness of Jesus, in patience, self-control, gentleness. That's where we focus our prayers.

Finally, the deepest hope you expressed is that everyone gets closer to God and behaves like Jesus. That's the fountain from which everything else flows. There is a family bond in Christ that can even surpass natural blood ties. When natural families carry tension, the household of faith often becomes a refuge. Keep praying that the Spirit draws your mom and dad into a real, living knowledge of Jesus. If their hearts are captured by his grace, behaviors will follow. And you can model that by drawing near yourself, forgiving freely, and serving without bitterness.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this household to you. Guard this dad's body from dangerous spikes in his diabetes. Grant wisdom to doctors and a spirit of cooperation in him. Calm the atmosphere at home. Still the words that provoke and the reactions that escalate. Heal the hidden wounds that make family life so hard. Pour out your Spirit so that everyone in that house turns toward you. Let them find their identity in Christ, and let love, joy, and peace reign there. In Jesus' name, amen.

Keep seeking him. He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, and he often works quietly, day by day, in ways we only recognize later.
