We hear your request and lift it before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and truth. First, let us affirm that you have rightly closed your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We are grateful that you recognize this truth and seek His guidance in this matter.
Father God, we come before You now, asking for Your divine presence to be with our brother or sister as they prepare for this unexpected meeting. Lord, we pray that You would go before them, order their steps, and guard their heart and mind. Help them to walk in wisdom and not be swayed by emotions, for Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We also ask, Lord, that You would grant them discernment and clarity. May Your Holy Spirit fill them with peace and confidence, reminding them that You are their strength and refuge. Psalm 46:1 declares, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Let this truth anchor their soul as they enter this meeting.
If there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in their heart, we pray that You would reveal it to them, Lord. Help them to repent and seek Your forgiveness, as well as the forgiveness of others if needed. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Let Your love and grace flow through them, enabling them to extend forgiveness and walk in humility.
We also rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or confusion that may be attempting to take hold of their heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that fear has no place in this situation, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Lord, we ask that You would use this meeting for Your glory. Whether the outcome is what they hope for or not, help them to trust in Your sovereign plan. Romans 8:28 assures us, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." May they rest in this promise, knowing that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
Finally, we pray that they would be a light in this meeting, reflecting Your love, grace, and truth. May their words and actions point others to You, Lord. Colossians 4:6 says, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."
We commit this meeting into Your hands, Father, trusting that You will guide and direct every moment. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
