We understand your concern for your friend's parents' approval, but let's remember that our ultimate goal is to please God and live according to His will. It's important to remember what is stated about fearing man rather than God.
It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to put confidence in man. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118:8-9 WEB
Instead of seeking their approval, let's pray that you will strive to live in a manner that is pleasing to God and that reflects the love of Christ. As it is said,
Let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 WEB.
Let us pray for you to seek approval from God and not man. Praying for this change in your life.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our friend who is seeking approval from their friend's parents. We ask, Lord, that You would help them to shift their focus from pleasing man to pleasing You. Help them to live in a manner that is honoring to You and reflects the love of Christ. We also pray for their friend's parents, that their hearts would be open and receptive to our friend, and that any awkward feelings would be replaced with love and understanding. We ask for a resolution to this discomfort with a ultimate goal of pleasing God. If there is any offense, then forgive them as we come to know you more. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to put God first.
We also notice that Jesus was not mentioned. When we pray, we should pray in Jesus' name.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 WEB
In fact, it is by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. Let's discuss who Jesus is and why it is important to believe in Him.
because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 WEB
We encourage you to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation.
