Lord, here I am again. I am SO grateful for your blessings for my daughter, but she needs the Spirit of Wisdom and Compassion to be with her today. She is trying to teach children (8th graders), but sometimes children don't understand how much she desires their success. Like us adults, children sometimes don't know what is best for them, and sometimes parents don't like to hear what they need to hear before their child can be successful.
Today my daughter will be meeting personally with the father of a confused child, and she is worried about the outcome. She wants to focus on things that will benefit the child, but she's concerned that the father only wants to focus on her shortcomings. She's afraid that recent change in this child's behavior might indicate drug use, but doesn't know how to approach trying to explain this to the father.
Lord, send Your Spirit to guide her words during this conference - help her to use words that the father will understand as she tells him of her concerns for his son. Help them to come to decisions that will benefit the child. If they truly focus on the needs of the child instead of their own agendas, then the meeting will be a success. I admit, Father, that my daughter finds it hard to listen sometimes, but that's a human failing of a lot of us. But she sincerely wants to truly listen to this father during the conference, and to try to come up with some methods to help his child be more cooperative in class.
Help the father and my daughter work as a team in this effort. Please allow both of them to keep their focus on this child, so that he might realize the error of his ways and understand that his behavior is only hurting himself. The rumor of a weapon in the building recently only adds to my daughter's concerns: both for this child and for her own safety. Please, God, send the Holy Spirit to help the father and my daughter de-escalate this situation. You are All Powerful and All Knowing. You know that my daughter only has the best interests of the child in mind. You can see her sincere motivations. Guide the father of this child to see her earnest concerns and give him the courage to work with her to help this child of Yours.
