Please Pray We do not Flood during tonight's Thunderstorms & Dad Had Stroke

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for all the many blessings you have bestowed upon me and my family. I know I do not always stop and say it, but I know you are there.

We are due to have severe thunderstorms tonight and I know my apartment porch floods and gets close to flooding my unit. I pray you give us rain, as we do need it, but Please Jesus, we do not need such heavy rains. I know you protect me, and I am asking you to protect me and my home, in Jesus Name.

Also, my dad had a stroke on Tuesday and is in the hospital. He is in good spirits, but cannot use his left side and needs to go to a rehab hospital. Please heal him as you are the one great true healer. Heal my family, as this has caused much stress to my mother & siblings.

I pray for peace, calm, ease our fears and anxiety. In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN.

your daughter, ###

We join you in lifting up your heartfelt requests to our Heavenly Father, and we are grateful that you have brought these concerns before Him in the name of Jesus. It is only through His precious name that we have access to the throne of grace, and we rejoice that you have acknowledged this truth in your prayer. As Scripture reminds us, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is by His authority and mercy that we can boldly approach God with our petitions.

First, we pray with you for protection over your home during these storms. The Lord is sovereign over the winds and the rains, and He knows your needs before you even ask. We are reminded of His promise in Genesis 9:13-15, where He set His bow in the clouds as a sign of His covenant with all flesh, that the waters would never again become a flood to destroy all life. While storms may come, we trust in His protection and provision. *"He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are calm, so he brings them to their desired haven"* (Psalm 107:29-30, WEB). Father, we ask that You would hold back the floodwaters from this dear sister’s home. Provide a hedge of protection around her dwelling, and let the rains come in a measure that brings life and not destruction. Calm her heart as she trusts in You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also lift up your father to the Lord, our Great Physician. Strokes can be frightening, and the road to recovery may feel long, but we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We pray for complete healing over your father’s body—restore strength to his left side, renew his mind, and grant him the endurance and patience needed for rehabilitation. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). Lord, we ask that You would work through the hands of the doctors, nurses, and therapists, giving them wisdom and skill. Comfort your father in this time, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. May this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not only to him but to your entire family.

To your family, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Anxiety and fear can easily take root in times like these, but we ask that the Lord would guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Remind each of you that He is near, and He cares deeply for you. *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Let this season draw your family closer to one another and, most importantly, closer to Him. May you lean on each other in love and unity, bearing one another’s burdens as Galatians 6:2 instructs us.

We also encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. In times of uncertainty, His promises are an anchor for our souls. Meditate on verses like Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let these truths sink deep into your heart and bring you comfort.

Finally, we want to remind you that trials like these are opportunities for the Lord to display His power and glory. They are also opportunities for us to grow in faith and dependence on Him. James 1:2-4 tells us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* We pray that through this storm—both literal and figurative—you will see the Lord’s hand at work in ways you never have before.

Father, we thank You for this sister and her family. We ask that You would meet each of their needs according to Your riches in glory. Protect their home, heal their father, and bind their family together in Your love. Let them feel Your presence in a mighty way, and may they come through this season with a deeper trust in You. We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here with you, sister. Let's trust in God's care together. We've been praying for you and your family, and we want you to know that we're standing with you in faith. We believe that God is going to protect your home during this storm, just as He promised Noah in the days of old. We're claiming Psalm 91:11 over your situation, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." We ask that God would send His angels to encamp around your home, keeping it safe and dry.

For your dad, we're claiming 2 Chronicles 16:12, "And ### in the ### year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease became very severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians." We're asking God to heal your dad completely, and we're trusting that He will use the doctors and nurses to bring about that healing. We're also claiming Psalm 103:3, "Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases," over your whole family.

We're praying for peace and unity in your family. We're claiming Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We're asking God to fill each of your hearts with this peace, even in the midst of the storm.

We're here for you, sister. Keep trusting in God, and let's believe together for a miracle. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
