Please Pray That Jesus Would Shelter Me Under the Shadow of His Wings

Since traveling a long distance to attend my mother's funeral on ###, my health has not been good. On ###, I accompanied my daughter to her school transfer entrance exam and was caught in a heavy rainstorm, which made me feel even worse. Lately, I have had to take increasingly stronger sleeping medication just to be able to fall asleep. Two situations have been weighing heavily on my heart. The first is that the video of my mother's funeral was posted publicly on a website by the videographer without my permission. I need to resolve this matter sometime this week. The second concerns my mother's estate. There is no legal urgency, as everything only needs to be completed within the next six months. Because my brother will be attending classes from ### through ###, we have already planned to take care of the estate matters after ###. However, both my older brother and older sister have been relentlessly pressuring me to deal with it immediately. We live in different cities, and they have even said they may come to see me in person to pressure me into handling everything right away. ### is my birthday, and I truly do not want to spend it in conflict with my family. On top of that, my husband is currently unemployed, and I need to remain calm and avoid unnecessary conflict so that I can continue working and supporting my family. Please pray that Jesus would have mercy on me, shelter me under the shadow of His wings, grant me His peace and protection, and give me the time I need to rest and recover physically. Please also pray that He would give me wisdom, favor, and grace to handle both of these difficult situations well and in His timing. Thank you so much for your continued prayers. I am deeply grateful for everyone who has been faithfully lifting me up before the Lord. May God richly bless each one of you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you navigate this season of grief, stress, and physical weariness. You have carried so much, losing your mother, enduring poor health, facing family pressures, and managing the weight of unresolved matters, all while striving to be a steady support for your family. The Word reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We declare that truth over you now. You are not alone in this; the Lord sees every tear, hears every sigh, and holds you close in His care.

First, we pray for your physical restoration. The strain of travel, grief, and exposure to the elements has taken a toll on your body, and the reliance on stronger medication to sleep is a sign of how deeply this season has affected you. We ask the Lord to strengthen you, to renew your energy, and to grant you the rest you need. Psalm 121:3-4 assures us, "He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." We pray that the Lord would guard your body and mind, giving you peaceful, restorative sleep without the need for medication. May He heal every part of you that is weary and worn.

We also lift up the matter of your mother’s funeral video being posted without your consent. This is a violation of your privacy and a painful reminder of your loss. We pray for wisdom and favor as you address this with the videographer. May the Lord go before you, softening hearts and granting you the right words to express your concerns with grace and authority. Proverbs 21:1 tells us, "The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." We pray that the Lord would turn the heart of this individual to honor your wishes and remove the video promptly. May this situation be resolved swiftly and without further distress.

Regarding the estate matters, we understand the pressure you are facing from your siblings. While it is natural for them to want closure, their insistence is adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult time. We rebuke the spirit of division and impatience that seeks to disrupt your peace. The Lord calls us to bear one another’s burdens, not to add to them. Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." We pray that your siblings would extend grace to you, recognizing that you are still grieving and that the timeline you have set is reasonable. May the Lord grant you the strength to stand firm in your boundaries while maintaining love and unity in your family. We also pray for your husband, that the Lord would open doors of opportunity for him and provide for your family’s needs in this season of transition.

Your birthday is approaching, and we pray that it would be a day of peace, joy, and refreshment for you. May the Lord surround you with His presence, reminding you of His love and care. We ask that He would shield you from conflict and fill your heart with gratitude for the life He has given you. Psalm 139:13-14 declares, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." You are cherished by the Lord, and we pray that you would feel His love deeply on your special day.

Above all, we pray that you would find shelter under the shadow of the Lord’s wings, as you have asked. Psalm 91:1-4 promises, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge." We declare that promise over you now. May you feel His presence surrounding you, His peace guarding your heart, and His strength sustaining you. We pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom in every decision, favor in every interaction, and grace to walk through this season with faith and trust in Him.

We also want to take a moment to acknowledge the foundation of your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is His name that brings salvation, healing, and deliverance. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We are grateful that you have placed your trust in Him, and we pray that His name would continue to be your refuge and strength.

Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your mercy upon our sister. Shelter her under the shadow of Your wings, grant her Your peace, and give her the rest and restoration she so desperately needs. Provide her with wisdom and favor as she navigates these challenging situations, and surround her with Your protection. May she feel Your presence in every moment, and may Your love be her comfort and strength. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We’re so sorry for the weight you’re carrying right now, grief, a long trip, getting drenched in a storm, health that’s been struggling, and then these heavy family pressures on top of it all. When life piles up like that, it can feel like you can’t catch your breath, and needing stronger sleep medication just to rest makes complete sense. You’re not weak for feeling overwhelmed; you’re human, and you’ve been hit with a lot in a short time.

One thing that sometimes helps in a season like this is simply to name what’s happening: a pile-up of real stressors. That’s not a failure on your part; it’s a hard set of circumstances. And when our bodies and minds are this worn down, slowing down isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. That might mean a gentle appointment with a doctor to talk about the sleep and the strain on your health, just to have someone walk alongside you medically.

On the practical side, you already have a wise plan for the estate, waiting until after your brother’s classes. It might help to write a brief, calm message to your siblings, kindly restating that timeline and gently asking them to respect your need for rest. You can’t control their response, but you can hold that boundary with grace. And for the video, a direct but courteous request to the videographer to take it down, perhaps early in the week, could lift that one worry off your shoulders.

We’re praying you feel truly sheltered under His wings, not rushed or pushed, but held.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to cover our sister with Your peace right now. Quiet her heart, restore her strength, and give her deep, natural rest. Grant her wisdom as she handles both the video and the estate conversations; let those interactions be marked by favor and surprising calm. Protect her birthday from conflict, and let it be a day of simple blessing. Provide for her husband’s work, and sustain her as she supports her family. Shelter her in the shadow of Your wings until the storm passes. In Your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you so much for your prayers!

I have already explained the situation to my older sister. Because my brother has changed the schedule of his classes three times, I simply cannot keep rearranging my own plans. In addition, my health has not been good recently. Since there is still plenty of time to complete the estate matters within the legal deadline, I have asked that we wait until after my brother finishes his classes.

However, my sister still wants everything to be completed before my brother's classes begin on ###. When she cannot reach me, she even calls my husband and my daughter. As a result, our entire family's daily life has been seriously disrupted.

Thus, I pray that Jesus would shelter our family under the shadow of His wings. May He protect us, grant us His peace, and give me the quietness, strength, and time I need to continue working, recover my health, and handle these matters wisely and according to His perfect timing.

How rightly you perceive that your first and great need is to be sheltered under the shadow of His wings. The sorrow of your mother’s passing, the weakness of your body, the turmoil of family strife, and the weight of worldly care, all these are but the sharp lancet in the hand of the Great Physician. It is not killing, but curing, that He means by it. Every trial is dealt in weight and measure, not in anger, but from His dear covenant love. You have felt the rainstorm on your body, but know that the very clouds that drenched you are the dust of His feet. The smarts and sorrows come from your Father’s hand, and there is nothing better for a child of God than to perceive this and say, “The will of the Lord be done.”

You ask for rest, and well you may, for rest is the promise of your Lord. But remember there is a rest from the burden and then a rest in the burden as Christ takes the yoke beside you. Come to Him, and He will give you rest. But then learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly in heart, and in learning that you shall find rest unto your souls. Do not seek your peace in the resolution of every earthly trouble, nor think that sleep must be found only in stronger medicines. Catch the spirit of Jesus, for it is the road to rest. The Christ in His own personality is to be trusted in, not merely the clearing of every cloud. Let not the ungodly handling of your mother’s funeral video, nor the ungracious press of your siblings, drive you from this confidence. The videographer’s act was a trespass, and your brother and sister’s insistence is a trial, but God’s gracious interposition reveals His sovereignty. No one prompts His grace; it springs from His own heart. Wait upon Him, for He knows what you should do in every difficulty.

You dread the approach of your birthday being spent in conflict. You long for time to rest. Then listen: “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” That is your dwelling. Not a passing visit, but a fixed abode. Under the shadow of His wing is your refuge; in the shadow of His hand are you hidden to achieve His eternal purpose. What better security can you desire? As for the wisdom you need, have you the Law of your God in your heart? If so, then the promise is that none of your steps shall slide. You need guidance, and as you have that Word hidden within, you shall have God’s guidance for your steps. He will not deliver you without a thousand cries, but yield yourself wholly to His guidance. Be practical in this, as in material things. Seek the wisdom of the Spirit carefully and believingly for each conversation, each letter, each decision regarding the estate.

As for your husband’s unemployment and your need to work, remember that the Grace of God does not run in the blood, nor does it depend on prosperous circumstances. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He gives His loving care to preserve you. Your faith, by divine grace, has made you whole, that same faith laughs at impossibilities. You have believed in Jesus; you are made whole. From now on, you are related to Christ as His own daughter. Go forward, then, with that majestic serenity. The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever.

The afflictions you now suffer, though heavy, are not without purpose. The righteous have always endured trials, and the greater the struggle near the end, the richer the reward when deliverance comes. Do not be surprised that sorrows multiply just when you seek rest. The Lord permits these final pressures to refine your patience and draw you closer under His wings. Your health, the funeral video, the estate, your siblings’ urgency, your husband’s unemployment, all these are the dust of this passing life, and they threaten to choke the peace that is your birthright in Christ.

Consider the estate they press you to settle. What is it but money, a thing that perishes? If He spared not Himself for you, how can you let sparing wealth or avoiding conflict consume your soul? Let your brother and sister come; meet them not with a grasping heart but with the calm of one who values the treasure above more than any earthly inheritance. You say you do not want conflict on your birthday. Then do not give birth to conflict. Be at peace with all men, for nothing delights God so much as remembering no evil. When they press, answer gently that the law allows time, and you will complete matters after your brother’s classes, as planned. Let your “no” be firm but wrapped in love. The more they war against you, the greater your reward if you remain peaceful. This is not weakness but the noblest virtue, imitating the Son of God.

As for the video, act with wisdom but without panic. Do not judge according to appearance, making a public spectacle of a private sorrow. Seek its removal quietly, trusting that your mother’s honor rests not in human postings but in God’s memory.

The gospel is the good news of peace. This war with worldly pressures and family strife is but a skirmish; the true conflict is with the evil one, who would steal your rest. But you are already sheltered under the shadow of His wings when you rest in Christ. Your sleep will return not by stronger medicines but by casting your burdens on Him. He makes wars to cease. Your husband’s unemployment, your body’s weakness, these are not signs of His absence but the arena where His strength is perfected. Cease rushing into conflicts; wait for His timing. The righteous deprecate needless battles, and so their victory is more glorious.

The Lord knows your exhaustion. He who allowed Abraham’s final trial to seem unbearable brought the ram at the appointed hour. Your hour of relief is near. Until then, stand still and see the salvation of God. Let your household be governed by the harmony of a soul at peace with its Savior, for that is worth more than wealth or power.

You have asked Jesus to shelter you under the shadow of His wings, and He will do it. The Ark of the Covenant rested beneath the outstretched wings of the cherubim in the most holy place, and that is a picture of where God invites you now: into a sacred quiet, guarded by His presence, where no pressure from the outside world can crush your spirit. You are carrying a great deal all at once, the raw grief of losing your mother, the strain on your body after travel and that drenching rain, and two tangled situations that will not let your mind rest long enough to sleep without chemical help. No wonder you feel battered.

When Solomon was young and the weight of the kingdom first settled on his shoulders, he did not ask for riches or the destruction of his enemies. He asked for wisdom, a hearing heart to govern the people well. God was so pleased with that request that He gave Solomon not only surpassing wisdom but also the things he had not asked for. Right now, you need that same gift: not just a solution to the video or the estate, but a heavenly wisdom that sees clearly, that knows when to move and when to wait, when to speak firmly and when to extend a kindness that covers a multitude of pressures.

Take the matter of the funeral video. It was a private moment of grief, and having it posted publicly without your consent feels like a violation. This is one of those things that ought not to be left unresolved. David, before he died, charged Solomon to deal with Joab’s long guilt, not to let his gray head go down to the grave in peace. Not every offense is equal, but when something is clearly wrong, there is a time to ask, insistently and yet graciously, that it be made right. Pray for the right words, a tone that is firm but not harsh, and the favor to have it taken down without a new conflict. God can turn the heart of the videographer.

Then there is your mother’s estate and the relentless pressure from your brother and sister. You have a plan: the legal window is six months, and you have agreed to address everything after your brother’s classes end. That is a reasonable space, not avoidance. But your siblings are agitating to force it all now, crossing city lines if they must, and you dread having your birthday consumed by strife. This calls for the other side of David’s charge to Solomon: show kindness to the sons of Barzillai, who helped me when I fled from Absalom. These are your family. Even when they are pushing you beyond your capacity, you can answer them with the peaceable spirit of someone who says, “I mean you no harm. I only want what is fair and sustainable for all of us, and for my own health.” Let them feel that your delay is not defiance but the quiet wisdom of a woman who knows her limits and trusts God’s clock.

Do not underestimate what rest can do. When Solomon dedicated the temple, he lifted his voice and blessed God, who had given rest to His people just as He had promised. You have God’s promise of rest too, not a date on a calendar, but the deep, soul-level kind that Jesus gives to those who are heavy laden. It is not a luxury. It is essential for your body and mind to recover. The need for sleeping medication is a warning flag that you have been pushing past your reserves. So let that birthday be a genuine pause, a small sanctuary in time. Ask the Lord to guard it, and trust that He can hold your siblings at bay long enough for you to breathe. He knows how to give you peace with others even before the treaty is signed.

I picture a tiny fly, able to land upside down on the ceiling because under its wings is a delicate gyroscope that keeps it perfectly oriented in space. God has placed a far surer gyroscope under the wings of His Spirit: an inner stability that holds you upright when storms and pressures would toss your heart upside down. You have been caught in a literal downpour, and now figurative ones are swirling. But the One who shelters you does not just cover you; He gives you the secret equilibrium to stay calm, to keep working, to support your family without drowning in panic.

So ask for wisdom. Ask large. Solomon’s wisdom exceeded the wisdom of Egypt and all the wise men of the East; God’s wisdom has not diminished. But as you ask, remember the later chapters of Solomon’s story, when his riches began to overshadow the wisdom that was once his chief treasure. Do not let the rush to settle the estate, or even the legitimate desire for closure, become more important than the quiet communion of a heart at peace. Pursue peace with your siblings, but do not sacrifice your own well-being and God’s timing on the altar of their urgency.

Jesus knows what it is to be surrounded by demands while His heart was grieving. He will have mercy on you. He will spread His wings over you and give you the rest you have been longing for. And when you lie down, may He grant you sleep without the heavy weight of medication, the sleep of a child tucked safe in the Father’s house. You are not alone. The prayers of the faithful are carrying you, and the God who hears will answer with wisdom, favor, and the unhurried peace that passes all understanding.
