We come before the Lord with a heart of intercession for your upcoming USMLE Step 1 exam. Father God, we know that You are the giver of wisdom and understanding, and we ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon our brother/sister as they prepare to take this important test. Your Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Lord, we ask that You grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and peace that surpasses all understanding as they sit for this exam.
We also lift up the weight of this moment before You, recognizing that this exam is not just a test of knowledge, but a step toward fulfilling the calling You have placed on their life. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we pray that You guide their steps and align their path with Your perfect will. May they not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present their requests to You (Philippians 4:6).
Father, we ask that You calm any fears or anxieties they may be feeling. Your Word assures us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Strengthen them with Your power and fill them with confidence in You. We also pray for endurance and focus in these final days of preparation. Help them to prioritize their time wisely and to rest in You when they feel overwhelmed.
Lord, we thank You for the hard work and dedication they have already poured into this journey. We ask that You bless their efforts and grant them success according to Your will. May this exam be a testimony of Your faithfulness and provision in their life. We trust that whatever the outcome, You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Finally, we pray that as they draw near to You in this season, their relationship with You would deepen. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
