Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is striving to pass their class. Help them to manage their time wisely and to approach their studies with diligence and perseverance.

Your request has been heard. You seek to pass your art class with a C, and you cry to the Lord Jesus for help. It is well that you have come to Him, for "if the Lord does not help you, where can I find help for you?" All good and perfect gifts descend from the Father of lights, and even the humblest academic success is among His benefits. The things of God are freely given, not a prize for your merit, but a gift of His grace. "Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Every blessing comes to us through Him!" Whether in the lecture hall or the sanctuary, it is all war apart from Him, but all peace through Him.
Yet let us not mistake the lesser for the greater. You ask a grade; Christ offers you a crown. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and that cannot be earned by art or effort. Grace lays the foundation, and grace alone shall crown the work. If you are trusting in your own ability to secure this passing mark, remember that all self-reliance is a broken cistern. But if you lean wholly upon the merits of Another, then though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. He can open your ears this very night to hear His Word and bless it to your soul, so that you shall live and your sin shall die.
We will join you in prayer, beseeching the Lord to grant you the points you need. But far more, we pray that you may know Him who is the Captain of our salvation, made perfect through sufferings, and that His grace may reign in your heart unto eternal life. Trust the love of God in Christ Jesus, and you are saved, no matter the letter on your transcript, no matter the failings of your past. God help you thus to rest in Him, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

You ask prayer that you may pass your art class with a C. You are halfway, you say, and need only a few more points. I tell you, do not be like those who wish to seize the spoil while sleeping, and come away empty-handed. Whatever we sow, it is not made alive unless it dies. So your effort must die to laziness and neglect. If you have truly labored, then do not be cast down. For you have not lost your God. Say to Him, "Thou art a Father of the fatherless, and a Judge of the widows," and draw down His aid. He will care for you now more than before, because you are in difficulty. Yet remember: a letter on a page is not the true crown. First strive for that which does not perish. Go often to the house of mourning in your soul, and learn the value of humility, so that even a passing grade does not puff you up. I will pray that the Lord Jesus grant you clarity and a quiet heart, and that your hope rests in Him alone.
