Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so openly what you have been carrying. Hearing about electric shocks in your own home, injuries to your skin, feeling unsafe where you should be at peace, and then facing angry accusations and mocking is deeply distressing. It is understandable that you feel shaken and that you long for truth to be made clear and for justice to be done. God sees all that has happened, even when what is in human hearts is hidden from us.
You quoted Psalm 34, that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all, and that He keeps his bones and that those who hate the righteous will be condemned. That psalm reminds us that God is not blind to affliction, He is the deliverer, and He is also the final judge. Vengeance belongs to Him, not to us. His justice is perfect, while human justice can fail. We can trust Him to bring what is hidden into the light in His time and His way.
Scripture also warns us how difficult it can be to discern truth when there are conflicting claims. False witnesses can come looking like sheep, speaking much that sounds true, which is what makes deception so dangerous. Jesus Himself was the victim of false accusations. He was charged with forbidding payment of taxes when He had not, and the crowd demanded the release of a man guilty of sedition and murder while calling for the death of an innocent man. Even a Roman judge who knew Jesus was innocent was pressured to act against justice. That account shows how easily justice can break down when anger and pressure take over, and why God established that justice must rest on pillars of righteousness and equity. When those pillars are weakened, everyone suffers.
The law of God also taught that if someone bears false witness against a neighbor, and is proved to have lied, the penalty he sought to bring on his neighbor would fall on himself. God takes truth telling seriously. He hates a lying tongue and a false witness. This is why we are told to test what we hear, to look at fruit, and to be slow to judge the heart, for only God knows the heart fully.
In your situation there are serious claims on both sides. You believe your apartment was entered and that the electrical system was tampered with to cause harm, and others have accused you of entering their home, which you say is not true. The police have twice found you innocent when you were accused while walking and reading Scripture, and you have been able to show documentation and photos to others who then believed you. That is important. Continuing to walk in truth, keeping careful records, making use of lawful authorities for protection and investigation, and not trying to settle matters by personal retaliation honors God and protects you.
It is right to pray for perfect justice, and perfect justice means asking God to reveal what is true, to protect the innocent, to restrain evil, and to call every person involved to account before Him. It also means praying as Jesus taught, to love our enemies and pray for those who oppose us. That does not mean excusing wrong or asking God to bless what is wrong. It means asking Him to break hardness of heart, to give a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone, to bring conviction of sin, repentance, and willingness to take responsibility where responsibility is due. It means asking Him to stop lies and mocking and to bring peace where there has been restlessness and shouting.
We will pray for you and for all involved.
Heavenly Father, we come through Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way to You. You see what has happened in that apartment, You know every intention, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. We ask You to protect this dear one from further harm, to bring healing to the body and to the wounds on the skin, and to give peace to a troubled mind. Where there has been danger with electricity and heating, we ask You to expose the truth clearly so that what is unsafe is made safe and what is wrong is brought to light through lawful and proper means. We ask You to guard against any false accusation, whether against this person or by this person, and to let truth prevail.
We pray for the landlord, for the woman who has shouted accusations, and for the concierge and any others involved. Touch their hearts, break through arrogance and hardness, grant them a heart of flesh, and lead them to honesty, repentance, and responsibility if they have done wrong. Where there is anger and mocking, bring conviction and compassion. Where there are lies, bring truth. We pray for the residents of both houses, that they may discern what is true and act with fairness and mercy.
Lord, we ask for Your justice, which is perfect, and for wisdom for the authorities who are called to uphold justice on earth. Keep this one from bitterness and from the desire to repay evil for evil. Fill the heart with trust in Your deliverance, as Psalm 34 promises, and with the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in forgiveness while still seeking what is right. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified as the One mighty to save. In the name of Jesus, our only hope and our righteous judge, amen.
