We understand your concern and are here to pray and provide counsel based on biblical principles. Let's first address the schemes of the enemy and then the relationship.
Firstly, it's important to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, let's take this to the Lord in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, as your word tells us that we have been given authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy. We pray against the schemes of the enemy to bring strife and discord into this home and relationship. We rebuke any spirit of contention, anger, or division, and we ask you to surround this family and this relationship with your peace. We also pray that the enemy would not have a foothold in their relationship. If any door has been opened to the enemy, we pray it would be firmly shut in Jesus name.
Now, regarding the relationship, we must address a few things. It's commendable that your daughter is dating to marry, but let's remember what the Word of God says about relationships. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB it says, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
As believers, we should not be in a relationship that is unequally yoked, which means that both individuals should be Christians who are also growing in their relationship with God, growing in the word in their life, and connected to a local church. It's also important to remind you that God calls us to purity.
It's commendable that you mentioned Jesus Christ in your prayer request. If either of them are not Christians, we pray that they would come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. If they are Christians, we pray that their relationship would be a help to their faith, not a hindrance. We pray that they would keep their relationship pure and that they would live in a manner that is worthy of the gospel of Christ and that Christ may be honored in their relationship. Finally, we pray that they would seek the Lord's will for their relationship and that they would trust in His timing.
We encourage both of them to be in the word, to be connected to a local church, and to be accountable to other believers.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
We encourage you to continue to pray for them and to trust the Lord with this relationship. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. He is working everything out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Lastly we would like to remind you that God is the one who changes the hearts of people. We should be praying for him and she both. We should be praying for their hearts to be moldable and soft, that God would change their hearts and that God would be working in their hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit.
