First day at sex addiction counseling please pray that it goes well and i actually get results and inner questions answered agreed to it because i need to stop falling into that sin and wife is going to stay if i do this please pray for my man artiste as well in Jesus name

We thank God that you have humbled yourself to confess this struggle and to seek help, and we join with you in seeking the Lord's mercy and transforming power in Jesus' name. We are encouraged that you called this sin what it is and that you desire to turn from it, and we are thankful you invoked the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to the Father. It is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

We must lovingly speak the truth that sex outside of marriage, whether through adultery, fornication, pornography, or lust in the heart, is sin against God and against your own body and against your marriage covenant. We are called to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Cor 6:18 and Everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matt 5:28 God ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and He calls it honorable. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Heb 13:4 Your willingness to enter counseling and your wife's willingness to stay is evidence of God's grace at work, and we urge you to honor her as Christ honored the church. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Eph 5:25 This will require not only counseling but daily repentance, radical accountability, and the renewing of your mind through the Word of God. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom 12:2 and Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 We encourage you to ensure this counseling is grounded in biblical truth, to confess openly to a mature believing brother for accountability, to remove every source of temptation, and to pursue purity not by willpower alone but by walking in the Spirit, for God is faithful and will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Cor 10:13

We lift you up together before the throne of grace and we also lift up your friend ### before the Lord.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for this brother who has confessed his need for deliverance. We ask You to be present on his first day of counseling and in every session that follows. Give him and his counselor wisdom, honesty, and clarity, and let the inner questions of his heart be answered not by mere human insight but by Your Holy Spirit and Your Word. Expose the roots of this sin, heal the wounds and lies that have fed it, and grant him true repentance that bears fruit. Cleanse him, forgive him, and break every chain of lust and addiction, and fill him with a new desire for holiness. We pray You would restore and protect his marriage, help him to love, cherish, and be faithful to his wife all the days of his life, and help his wife to experience Your comfort, healing, and hope as she stands by him. Guard their marriage bed and make their union a testimony of Your redeeming grace. We also bring ### before You, You know his needs and his heart, and we ask You to bless him, draw him close to Yourself, and supply what he lacks according to Your riches. Teach both of these men to confess their offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that they may be healed. James 5:16 May this season mark a new creation in Christ where old things have passed away and all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17 We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only Savior, Amen.

We were glad to see your note. Walking into that first counseling appointment takes real courage, and your desire to get to the root of this and to turn from it is a good and honest step. We are praying today feels safe enough to be fully open.

It makes sense you have a lot of inner questions and also feel pressure because your wife is hoping this helps. Try not to carry both weights at once in the room. One thing that helps many men on day one is to write down the two or three questions you most want answered and bring them with you, and to decide ahead of time to answer honestly even when shame makes you want to hold back. A counselor can only help with what he can see, and honesty gives God and your counselor room to work.

Healing in this area usually touches many parts of life at once, thoughts and habits and relationships and faith, so give yourself grace that answers and change come step by step, not all in one meeting. It also helps to ask before you leave what ongoing support they recommend, like a small accountability group or when to come back, so you leave with a clear next step.

We hear your care for your marriage and we are praying for the man you mentioned as well. Staying consistent with the process matters more than having everything figured out today.

Father, we lift this brother to You today. Give him peace as he walks in, clarity to speak truthfully and ears to hear what is helpful. Bring healing in his heart and give wisdom and comfort to his wife as You lead them both forward. Guide his counselor and provide steady steps in the days ahead. In Jesus name, amen.

We have heard your request with thankfulness to God, for it shows a heart that desires to turn from sin and walk in holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. To seek purity is not optional, and charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity. You do well to seek help, and we will bring you before the throne of grace.

You ask that your first day at counseling may go well and bring true results and answers to inner questions. We pray that the Lord will use this means, yet we remind you that no counselor can create a clean heart within you. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. There are some who fear their purity can never be restored, who say, I have defiled myself, my very thoughts are impure. To such we preach a blessed Gospel, that the Holy Spirit can give you back more than your former purity. He can create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you. Look not to method alone, but to Christ Himself, who with one look severed Peter from the crowd and melted him to repentance. As it was with Peter, so it is with you, the Lord has prayed for you that your faith fail not, and His intercession makes restoration sure. He can bring you up again, and make you a stronger brother to others afterwards, able to say from experience, do not wander, there is no good in it, come back to Him, there is such peace and rest with Him.

We pray also for your marriage. The Scripture teaches that marriage is not a mere convenience, but a covenant cemented by mutual love, wherein husband and wife become one. It is a solemn choice and a lifelong union. We thank God that your wife is willing to stay as you pursue holiness, and we pray that the Lord will knit your hearts together again in truth and tenderness, that your union may reflect the marriage of the Lamb, where Christ loves His Church and His people love Him in return. May the Lord establish your home in faithfulness and guard it from further defilement.

We will pray for your friend artiste as well, that the Lord will draw him to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and that he may know the same restoring grace.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, look with mercy upon this Thy servant who confesses his sin and seeks deliverance. Forgive him through the blood of the Lamb, cleanse his thoughts, and set his feet upon the rock of holiness. Bless the counsel he receives today, and make it an instrument in Thy hand, but do Thou Thyself be his healer. Restore unto him the joy of Thy salvation, keep his marriage covenant whole, and give to his wife grace to forgive and strength to walk beside him in this trial. Bring his friend also into the light of Thy truth. Keep them all by Thy power, and make them to hate sin and to love purity, for Jesus sake. Amen.
