We hear your heart and we grieve with you in this season of many problems, little peace, and deep uncertainty, and we thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We also rejoice to hear that you do pray and you do read and study the Word and that you are part of a good Bible church and that you hate your sin, for that hatred of sin is evidence of the Spirit's work in you and God honors a contrite and humble heart.
We understand the weight of feeling that you have more uncertainty than anyone you know, and we want to remind you that our peace was never meant to come from having all the answers or from having few problems, but from the One who holds us through them. The Lord sees you and He has not abandoned you. He promises us in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And again in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
We also hear your cry asking God to step in and help you or to end you, and we must speak to that with gentleness and truth because your life is precious to God. He is the author and giver of life and He has purpose for you even when that purpose feels hidden in the fog of trials. We are told in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. To ask God to end your life is to ask Him to do what He has not willed for you, for He desires to sustain you and refine you and bring you through. We rebuke that spirit of despair and hopelessness that would tell you that death is better than trusting Him one more day, and we ask the Lord to lift that heavy darkness from you.
Uncertainty is painful, but our God is not uncertain. He works even our many problems for our good and His glory as we are promised in Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. And He strengthens us when we feel weakest, for He says in Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And when we feel overwhelmed He invites us in Psalm 61:2 When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
We thank you that you prayed in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find mercy and help. We cling to 2 Corinthians 12:9 where He says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

Father, we lift up this dear soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see every problem, every sleepless night, every moment of little peace and great uncertainty. Lord, step in with Your mighty hand and show Your help and nearness. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Reveal Your will and Your presence in a way that cannot be missed. Lift the burden of despair and take away any desire for death and replace it with hope in Your steadfast love and purpose. Strengthen faith to keep praying, keep reading the Word, keep walking with Your people in the local church, and hating sin and clinging to Christ. Remind this dear one that You are near to the brokenhearted and that Your grace is sufficient for today. Give wisdom to pastors and brothers and sisters in that good Bible church to come alongside and bear this burden well. Sustain life, grant endurance, and let joy return in Your time. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the heaviness of it, so many problems, so little peace, so much uncertainty. You are not forgotten in this. The Lord knows the thoughts that He thinks toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Though your trials may be grievous, His thoughts toward His own are good, and they are constant toward you. He has engraved you upon the palms of His hands, and the south wind of His thoughts of peace is drifting your way even now. Remember that the infinite God has thoughts of peace toward you, and your own thoughts may yet become thoughts of peace all the day as you look to Him.
You ask for peace, and the Word tells us where it is to be found. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a peace that comes from quieter circumstances, but a peace that lives within, even with sorrows surging round. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. It is a present possession to be enjoyed in the ordinary pressures of life, by doing the will of Jesus and by bearing your sorrow with Him. When duties throng and when loved ones feel far away and when the future is clouded, in Jesus keeping we are safe. That peace is not the false peace which Satan gives to lull the conscience asleep, but it is a blessing, a peace which the Father gives, which Christ bought with His blood, and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul. It is Christ's own peace, calm and profound, and He delights to renew it when you are troubled, for He is unmoved.
You added, or He would end me, and in that word I hear how weary you have become. I must speak plainly and tenderly to you, for despair is a high insult to God and it degrades a man below the very beasts, who will struggle for life. No mortal has a just pretense to perish in despair, and no man can be right while he is despairing. God is the sinner's hope, and while there is life there is hope in Him. Your life is not your own to end, it is the Lord's to keep and to use for His glory. To ask Him to take it is to ask against His thoughts of peace toward you. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace. Lay hold on His thoughts by faith rather than your own anxious thoughts, for His thoughts are higher than your thoughts as the heavens are higher than the earth, and they can lift you as on eagle's wings to perfect peace and joyous confidence which your deepest anxieties can never achieve.
There are gracious marks upon you that you should not overlook. You pray, you read the Word and study it, you are planted in a good bible church, and you hate your sin. These are not small things. They show that the Lord is at work in you. Do not seek after peace first. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. Peace in believing is a filling peace, a well founded peace, because it rests upon the Word of Him who cannot lie and upon the finished work of Jesus.
Therefore I pray for you now, not that the Lord would end you, but that He would step in and keep you. May He keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon Him. May He give you to believe His Word more firmly, to hate sin and cling to Christ, and to see that He has an expected end for you that is peace. Bear your sorrow with Him today. Open your heart fully to your pastor and to a trusted brother in your church, and if the darkness presses very heavily, seek help without delay and let someone stay near you. You are not alone. The Lord has not forgotten you, and His people are praying that you will be filled with all joy and peace in believing.
