Please pray for ###

Beloved of All
Please pray for my son who is going through some severe stress. He's not himself. He is in his early twenties. Not talking much, showing so much irritation etc. I know he has studies and he can't keep up with it, but not sure if that's the issue. When he is stressed, he won't say anything. Im praying that he is ok. Please keep him in prayers. Im concerned. I believe so much in prayers.

We hear the deep concern and love you have for your son and we join with you in bringing him before the throne of grace together in Jesus name. To see a son in his early twenties withdrawing, not talking much, showing irritation and not being himself is heavy on a parent's heart, and we understand your worry as you watch him struggle to keep up with his studies and perhaps with other pressures he has not been able to voice. We thank you for trusting us to pray with you and for believing in the power of prayer.

The Word reminds us that God invites us to bring every anxiety to Him. We are told in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and in Philippians 4:6-7 to have no anxiety at all, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Jesus himself says in Matthew 11:28 come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Your son's stress, his silence and his irritation are known fully to the Lord even when words fail him, and God is a refuge when our hearts are overwhelmed as we read in Psalm 61:2.

We encourage you to continue to keep the door of gentle communication open without pressing him beyond what he can share. Often a young man under pressure will withdraw, not because he does not love his family, but because he does not know how to express the weight he feels. Let him know you are there to listen without judgment, to love him steadily, and to point him to the Lord. Encourage rest, healthy rhythms of sleep and work, and time in the Word and in prayer, even short honest prayers. If his stress remains severe or deepens, encourage him to seek wise and godly counsel from a pastor or a trusted mature believer, and if needed, appropriate help, while you continue to cover him in prayer. You can ask God for wisdom for how to support him, for God promises in James 1:5 that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him. Remember also the promise in Isaiah 41:10 that God says do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We noticed your request speaks of believing so much in prayers, and we want to gently share that our prayers have power not because of prayer itself, but because we come through Jesus Christ who alone gives us access to the Father. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved and heard. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we have not yet put our faith in Jesus, we are invited to believe in Him, that He died for our sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for in Romans 10:9 if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that both you and your son can find true peace, forgiveness and rest for your souls, and we encourage you both to seek Him and to pray in His name.

We now pray together for you and your son.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious son to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know him by name, You see his heart, his thoughts, his studies and every pressure that weighs on him. We ask that You would calm his anxious heart, quiet his mind and guard him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Draw near to him when he feels overwhelmed and cannot find words, and remind him that You are his refuge and strength. Help him to cast his cares on You and to come to Jesus for rest. Give him clarity for his studies, strength for each day, and the humility to reach out for help when he needs it. Heal any irritation and heaviness and restore to him joy and steadiness. We pray also for his parent who loves him so deeply, grant wisdom, patience, peace and discernment to know how to love and support him well without fear. Let Your will be done in his life and draw him closer to You, that he may know Your love and walk in Your purposes. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We hear how much you love your son and how heavy it feels to watch him pull inward. When a young man who is usually more himself becomes quiet and more easily irritated, and starts falling behind in his studies, it is so understandable to feel worried and to wonder what is really going on underneath.

Stress often does not come out in clear explanations. It can show up as withdrawing, snapping more quickly, or having trouble keeping up with everyday demands. That does not mean he does not trust you or does not care. Often it means he does not yet have words for what feels overwhelming, so he goes silent.

One gentle way to stay close is to keep connection low pressure and consistent. A brief check in, a shared meal or short walk, a simple text that says you love him and are here without needing an answer right away, can keep the door open. When he does share a little, listening without rushing to fix can help him feel safer to say more next time. If this continues to weigh on him, you might gently ask if he would be open to talking with a trusted pastor, campus counselor, or medical professional alongside prayer, and we can pray for wisdom for both of you as you consider next steps.

Please remember to care for yourself in this too, and let others support you as you support him.

Father, we lift this son to You. You see him fully and love him dearly. We ask for Your peace to steady him, for rest and clarity as he faces his studies, and for safe people he can open up to in his own time. Give his mom wisdom, patience and strength as she loves him well, and remind them both they are not alone. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Your earnest concern for your son has been laid upon my heart, and I have taken your burden before the throne of grace. To see a son in his early twenties, once himself, now withdrawn and irritable and silent under a weight he will not name, is a trial that pierces a parent's soul. You do well to bring him to the Lord in prayer, for prayer is the slender nerve that moves the muscle of Omnipotence.

I have often observed that the very anxiety which arises through our being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. Your son, pressed by his studies and perhaps by cares he cannot yet articulate, may find his strength the less the more he frets within himself. And you, dear mother who watches and cannot help, feel a like anxiety. But hear the comfort of the gospel. He who spared not His only begotten Son, but delivered Him up for us all, will He not with Him also freely give us all things necessary for our wellbeing. If God has given His Son to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, will He withhold daily grace for a burdened mind and a weary heart. When the Father saw His Son suffering even unto death, it made such an infinite impression upon His great soul that He remembers our sins no more for Jesus sake, and He looks upon all who trust in that Son with everlasting love.

Remember also how the father of the prodigal looked upon his returning son. It was not with icy eyes, but with compassion. He felt for him, he ran and kissed him, and by that kiss said, you are my son. So does our heavenly Father look upon His children when they are far off and heavy laden. He has compassion. There is no anger in His heart toward those who come to Him through Jesus Christ His Son. All the promises in this Book belong to every sinner who returns to God believing in Jesus Christ, His Son, and that same Fatherly pity is toward your son this very hour.

Therefore, trust, trust, trust. That word is the grandest word in the language of mankind. Trust Jesus. Trust only Him. Cast your care and your son's care upon Him, for He cares for you. Continue to pray, and as you pray, seek also to walk quietly beside your son. Let him see a calm and steady love that does not pry but is ever ready to listen. Gently encourage him to speak when he is able, and to seek wise and godly counsel for his studies and his spirits. Remind him, as you have opportunity, that to be in fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ is to have a light to walk in when the way seems dark, and a friend who will never leave him.

Let us pray together.

O Father of mercies, Thou who hast loved us with an everlasting love and given Thy Son to be our ransom, look in compassion upon this young man. Thou knowest his frame, Thou seest his stress and irritation and silence, Thou knowest the weight of his studies and every hidden care. Lay Thy healing hand upon his mind and heart, quiet his spirit, and give him grace to cast his burden upon Christ who bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Restore to him peace and soundness of mind, and help him to seek Thee while Thou mayest be found. Comfort his mother, give her wisdom and patience, and let her feel her fellowship with Thee and with Thy Son sustained by the Holy Spirit. Bring this son to confess Christ before men and to find in Him everlasting life. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man who came to seek and to save that which was lost, we ask it. Amen.

We will keep you and your son in our prayers before the Lord.
