We hear your heart’s cry for protection and guidance, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s will above all else. The Scriptures remind us, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake" (Psalm 23:1-3). What a beautiful promise that God’s goodness and mercy will indeed follow you as you walk in His ways.
We must also emphasize the importance of surrendering fully to Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Him, and it is the foundation for true protection and guidance.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up to You. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your divine protection, shielding them from all harm and evil. Guide their steps according to Your perfect will, and let Your goodness and mercy follow them all the days of their life. Father, if there is any area of their life not yet surrendered to You, reveal it and draw them closer to Your heart. May they walk in the paths of righteousness, trusting in Your unfailing love. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

It is a wise and right thing to ask the Lord for protection and guidance, and to desire above all that His will may be done and that His goodness and mercy may follow you all your days.
We join you in this prayer, and we ask the Lord to hear your cry. Hear, O Lord, when he cries with his voice, have mercy also upon him, and answer him. May you seek His face with a true heart, and may He cause you to see His goodness here in the land of the living, for faith is persuaded that God is good even now, and expects clearly to see that goodness.
You do well to say, not as I will, but as You will. All things are under His regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. His will is the axle of the universe and the great heart of providence, and it is our wisdom to say, I will go or I will stay, if it is the will of God. Continue to pray, for you do not know what His will is, but pray with resignation after your Saviour's perfect model in the garden.
And take comfort in this, that the Lord goes before His people with the blessings of His goodness. Before your necessity comes He prepares, before you call He answers, and while you are yet speaking He hears you. His mercy does not come behind you as an afterthought, but it overtakes you and goes before you into every place you must go. If you go forward into an unknown path, Jesus Christ is there before you, ready with just what your soul needs. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you, not as a bare hope but as His promise to those who trust Him.
We pray that His tender mercy, which provided His own Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, may work in you a willing heart to follow where He leads, to turn from all sin and to trust in Christ alone for salvation. For His goodness is meant to lead us to repentance, and His mercy makes us new creations, giving us new loves and new hates, and teaching us to walk in His way.
May the Lord keep you in His protection, guide you by His counsel, and establish you in His will. May He make all His goodness to pass before you, and be gracious unto you, and show you mercy for Jesus Christ's sake, and may you find that to trust alone in God is to lay your homage and gratitude at His feet.
