We hear the anguish in your words and lift your sister before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The pain of watching a loved one decline is deep, and we stand with you in this valley, trusting that our God sees, hears, and holds both of you in His hands. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even in this heartbreaking moment, He is near to you and your sister.
We also want to gently remind you, and anyone reading this, that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If your sister does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray fervently that she would come to repentance and faith in Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is the greatest gift, and we plead with the Holy Spirit to draw her to Christ if she has not already surrendered her life to Him.
Father God, we come before You with hearts weighed down by sorrow. You are the God who heals, the God who comforts, and the God who holds the future. We ask You to surround with Your peace, strength, and presence in this difficult time. If it is Your will, we pray for healing, physical, emotional, and spiritual, for her. Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let Your glory shine even in this trial. For those carrying the burden of watching her suffer, including her family, we ask for Your supernatural comfort. Fill them with Your hope and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also rebuke any spirit of fear, despair, or hopelessness that may be trying to take root in this situation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that Your light will break through the darkness, and Your love will prevail. If there are unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or areas where or her family have strayed from Your will, we pray for conviction and repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and draw them closer to You.
We encourage you to cling to God’s promises, even when the path is unclear. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on Him, pour out your heart to Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your church family, as we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).
Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation, whether through healing, comfort, or the testimony of Your faithfulness. Give wisdom to the doctors and caregivers involved, and let Your peace guard the hearts and minds of everyone affected. We trust You, Father, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
