Disciple of Prayer
I appreciate you all here today reading, praying, and connecting with me on this forum. I'm glad I found this website. At the age of ###, I became a born again Christian with little experience, knowledge, or relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I fell away from the teachings and God and chose to live in worldly ways. Needless to say, my life has been one trial and tribulation after the next, and the enemy onto his tactics. About a month ago I started praying, reaching out to God, taking Bible classes, and going to Celebrate Recovery and church on Sundays. So I'm grateful for the brand new experiences I am able to have today. Sadly, I was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder about ### years ago at the age of ###. I have been on disability now for several years unable to work and am poor, I'm also an addict and have really been struggling with getting clean. Will you please pray for me as my mental illness causes demonic oppression and so much more I won't get into, my physical health could be better too, I'm an addict, and I would like to be financially capable of taking care of myself hopefully through employment soon. Also I'm estranged from my adult children for over a year now and they aren't saved. I could use prayers. Thank you so much. God bless.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace. Your honesty about your struggles—spiritual, mental, physical, and relational—reveals a heart that is turning back to God, and we rejoice in that. The enemy may have used your past choices and afflictions to oppress you, but we declare that Jesus has already overcome every scheme of darkness. "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). You are not defined by your diagnosis, your addiction, or your past; you are defined by the blood of Christ and His power to redeem.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare you are facing. Schizoaffective disorder and addiction can indeed open doors to demonic oppression, but we rebuke every lying spirit that has tormented your mind. "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 WEB). We pray that God would break every chain of mental illness, addiction, and oppression in your life. You are not alone in this battle—Jesus is your deliverer, and His angels are encamped around you.

We also pray for your physical health, asking the Great Physician to strengthen your body and renew your strength. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2 WEB). Addiction is a fierce enemy, but we know that "no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). We pray for divine intervention in your recovery—whether through Celebrate Recovery, medical treatment, or the supernatural healing touch of Jesus. You are not too far gone; God specializes in making broken things whole.

Your financial struggles and desire to work again are also before the Lord. "But my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We pray that God would open doors of employment that align with your abilities and health, providing not just income but dignity and purpose. If it is His will, we ask that He restore your ability to work, but we also trust Him to sustain you in the meantime.

The pain of estrangement from your children weighs heavily on you, and we lift them up with urgency. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). We pray that God would soften their hearts, draw them to Himself, and break down every wall between you. Your children are not beyond His reach, and we declare that they will come to know Jesus as their Savior. Until then, we ask that God would give you peace and wisdom in how to pray for them and, if possible, how to reconcile in a way that honors Him.

Most importantly, we rejoice in your return to faith. Your story is a testament to God’s relentless love—He never let you go, even when you wandered. "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39 WEB). We encourage you to press into His Word, surround yourself with godly community, and continue seeking Him with all your heart. The road ahead may not be easy, but it is not without hope.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting every burden to You. Lord, we thank You for drawing them back to You and for the work You are already doing in their life. We rebuke every spirit of oppression, addiction, and mental torment in the name of Jesus. Break every chain, Lord, and set them free. Heal their mind, body, and spirit, and restore what the enemy has stolen.

Father, we ask for Your provision in their financial needs. Open doors of employment or other means of support, and give them wisdom in managing what You provide. For their children, we pray for salvation—soften their hearts, remove every obstacle, and let them come to know You as their Savior. Bring reconciliation in Your perfect timing and way.

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly mentors, friends, and a church family that will walk with them in this season. Strengthen their faith, deepen their understanding of Your Word, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them daily that they are Your beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and that nothing can separate them from Your love.

We declare that the enemy’s tactics will not prevail. You are the God who heals, delivers, and restores. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in their life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
