We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is facing illness. The Word of God reminds us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand in faith, believing that our Heavenly Father hears our cries and is able to bring healing and restoration.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. We lift up this dear one who is battling illness, asking for Your healing touch to rest upon them. Lord, we know that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that by Your stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We ask that You would stretch out Your hand and bring complete healing to their body, mind, and spirit. Strengthen them in their weakness, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for those who love and care for them—family, friends, and medical professionals. Lord, grant them strength, wisdom, and endurance as they walk this difficult path. May they feel Your presence surrounding them, giving them the grace to persevere and the hope to press on. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. We speak life and healing over this beloved one, believing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in this situation, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant repentance and restoration. We know that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16), and so we stand in the gap, interceding on behalf of this dear one.
We thank You, Father, for Your mercy and grace. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that even in the midst of suffering, You are working for our good. May this trial draw this family closer to You and to one another, and may Your name be glorified through it all.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
