We have heard your request and we lift up this precious man together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We are deeply moved by his suffering, to live with blindness and now to endure the profound grief of losing his mother, and we ask our compassionate Father to surround him with His presence and comfort.

The word of God tells us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit in Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We know that our Lord sees him fully, even when his physical eyes cannot see, for Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind in Psalm 146:8 and He promises I will bring the blind by a way that they didn't know. I will lead them in paths that they didn't know. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight in Isaiah 42:16. We want him to know his blindness is not a punishment or a sign of God's disfavor, just as Jesus said when asked about the man born blind, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents, but that the works of God might be revealed in him in John 9:3. God deeply loves him and desires to reveal His strength and mercy through his life. We also remember that God is A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation in Psalm 68:5, and though he has lost his earthly mother, his heavenly Father will never leave him nor forsake him, as it is written Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted in Matthew 5:4.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we bring this dear man before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask You to comfort him in his mourning, to hold him close as he grieves his mother, and to fill the emptiness in his heart with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask You to be his guide, his light in darkness, and his ever present help. Provide for his daily needs, surround him with people who will love him, assist him, and speak Your truth to him. Let him feel Your hand leading him each step and let him know he is fearfully and wonderfully made and precious in Your sight. Strengthen him and remind him that Your grace is sufficient for him, for Your power is made perfect in weakness in 2 Corinthians 12:9. We pray that he would know Your love in a deep and personal way.

We also want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. We pray that this man and all who love him would know Jesus as Savior and Lord, believing in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved in Romans 10:9. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our comfort, amen.

We were moved reading your request for ###. Losing his mother while living with blindness is a heavy combination, and we can hear how much you care for him at ### years old.

Grief has no set timeline and no two people walk through it the same way. At first there can be numbness, then later deep sadness or anger as the permanence settles in. For someone who is blind, the loss of a mother may also mean the loss of a trusted guide, a familiar voice and daily help, so the adjustment touches both heart and everyday life.

What often helps most is steady, quiet presence rather than trying to find perfect words. If you are near him, simply sitting with him, listening when he wants to talk, reading aloud or helping with a practical task can communicate care more than any explanation. Staying connected to a small circle of family, friends or a church family who will keep showing up in the weeks ahead can make a real difference when the initial support fades.

Father, we lift ### to You. Comfort him in the ache of losing his mother and meet him in his loneliness. Surround him with faithful people who will walk with him patiently and give him Your peace day by day. Guide those who love him to know how best to support him. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is with much tenderness of heart that we have heard of this afflicted one, who walks in the darkness of blindness and now bears the heavier darkness of bereavement in the loss of his mother. The Lord knows his frame and his sorrow, and not a tear falls unnoticed by Him who is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.

We are commanded by the prophet, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, and it is the privilege of the people of God to carry that comfort to those who mourn. And where shall comfort be found but in the Word of the Lord. The Psalmist saith, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone, but the Spirit blessing the Word to the soul that quickens and sustains. When the Lord would comfort us, He often doth it not by removing the trial at once, but by quickening us in the midst of it, so that we are able to bear it and to find His presence sweet within it.

Be assured of this further comfort, that God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. No trial hath taken him but such as is common to man, and though his affliction is great, being both blind and bereaved, yet the Lord hath measured it, and He will limit it, and He will sanctify it. He can give comfort and constancy together, to comfort the heart and to establish it in every good word and work.

We do pray for him now, that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God even our Father, who hath loved us, would comfort his heart. That the Lord would draw near to him in his blindness and be his light, and in his loneliness be his companion. That the Word of God may be opened to his understanding, whether by hearing or by the reading of others, and that the Holy Spirit would quicken him thereby. That he may know the Saviour who died to redeem such as we are, and who lives to be the friend that sticketh closer than a brother, and that through faith in Him alone he may find pardon, peace, and the hope of that blessed reunion where sorrow and sighing shall flee away. May the Lord keep him, provide for his needs, raise up kind friends to help him, and cause him in due time to forget his misery as waters that pass away, or to find it turned into joy by the consolations of Christ.

We have received your request and we are joining you in prayer for this man who is blind and who is now grieving the loss of his mother. God knows his name and his years and sees him fully even when our eyes cannot see all that he carries.

The loss of a mother is a deep sorrow. Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and that honor does not end when they are taken from us. We honor them by remembering them with thanksgiving, by living faithfully before God, and by entrusting them to His mercy. It is right to grieve, and you do well to bring this grief before the Lord and before His people so we may continue with one accord in prayer for him.

We pray that God will comfort him in this bereavement. Many have their own griefs at home, one for one cause and another for another, and no one is free from sorrow in this life. Yet we are not left without help. The Scriptures are given to us as medicines for the soul. We encourage him, as he is able, to hear the New Testament, the Psalms, the Gospels and the Apostolic letters read aloud, and to keep them in his mind. If grief befalls us, whether through loss or death or the bereavement of relations, we can dive into them as into a chest of medicines and find comfort for our trouble.

We also pray that he will know he is not cast off or forgotten. Though he lives with blindness in the body, the Lord sees him, knows his path, and is near to the brokenhearted. We ask God to give him daily help for his needs, companions who will walk with him faithfully, and the humility and patience to trust the Lord in this season of temptation and not to make haste in despair.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we lift this dear man before You through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Have mercy upon him. Comfort him in the loss of his mother. Wipe away his tears, give him peace that passes understanding, and let him hear Your voice in Your Word. Provide for him, protect him, and draw him ever closer to Your Son, in whom there is true sight and eternal life. Strengthen all who care for him to love him well and to point him to Your promises. Thank you for sharing this burden for this man. His need has been lifted in prayer, and his sorrow is not unseen by the Lord.

Jesus knows both kinds of blindness that Scripture speaks about. There is the physical blindness that closes the eyes, and there is the spiritual blindness that keeps a heart from seeing who He is. The religious leaders in His day could see with their eyes yet could not see the signs right before them that He was the Messiah. Even His own disciples, after confessing Him as the Messiah, were blind to what that meant, that He had come not to take a throne immediately but to be a man of sorrows, to be wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, cut off and lifted on a cross for us. He understands physical sight and the deeper need for spiritual sight, and He has compassion for both. Pray that God will meet this man in his blindness, give him comfort and help for daily needs, and above all open the eyes of his heart to know Jesus clearly as Savior.

The loss of a mother brings a grief that pierces like a sword. Scripture shows us Jesus at the cross, in His own agony, still looking to His mother and caring for her, entrusting her to the disciple He loved so she would not be alone. He knows the depth of that bond and the wound that comes when it is broken. He also showed His compassion for grieving parents when He came to a home filled with loud weeping and brought hope into that sorrow, not for the sake of display but out of tender care for those who mourned.

In another place when His mother and brothers stood outside wanting to speak to Him, He asked who are my mother and my brothers, and then pointed to His disciples and said that whoever does the will of God is His brother and sister and mother. He was not dishonoring His mother, but teaching that there is a family that God creates around those who follow Him. This man has lost his earthly mother, and that loss is real and painful, but he does not need to be left without family. In Christ he can be brought into the family of God, surrounded by brothers and sisters who will walk with him.

There is no need to seek another intercessor to reach Him. Scripture never invites us to go through Mary or the saints to get to Jesus. Jesus Himself showed that we come directly to Him. He hears this man's own cry, even without sight, even in loneliness and grief.

So we pray directly to Him.

Father, we bring this man before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son who died and rose again. You see his blindness and You know his grief in losing his mother. Comfort him as only You can. Wipe away his tears and carry his sorrow. Provide for his daily needs and place around him people who will love him as family. Open the eyes of his heart to see Jesus as the Messiah who suffered for him and lives for him, and draw him into Your household where he will never be alone. Give him peace that goes beyond understanding and hope of eternal life where every tear will be removed. Amen.
