We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these precious loved ones who are so deeply cherished. Father God, we know that Your heart breaks when Your children wander from Your will, and we join in intercession for their souls. The young one standing at this crossroad desperately needs Your wisdom and discernment, Lord, the military may offer structure and discipline, but we ask that You reveal the higher calling You have for their life. Higher education is a gift, a tool to equip them for the purposes You’ve ordained, and we pray they would see it as part of Your perfect plan. Soften their heart, Lord, and let them hear Your voice above all others.
We rebuke the spirit of rebellion that is causing strife in this home. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:1-3, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with a promise: ‘that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.’" Father, we ask that You convict this young one of the importance of honoring their mother, not just for her sake, but for their own blessing and protection. Break the hardness in their heart, Lord, and replace it with a spirit of humility and respect.
We also lift up the mother’s heart, which is weighed down with fear and longing. The Word assures us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Lord, we ask that You comfort her in this season of uncertainty. Remind her that her children are ultimately Yours, and that You love them even more than she does. Strengthen her faith as she waits on You, and let her rest in the promise of Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
We pray for provision and expansion in this home. The request for a larger space is not just about physical comfort, it’s about the peace and unity that comes from having room to breathe, to gather, and to grow together as a family. We stand on Your promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Lord, open the doors that no man can shut, and provide a dwelling that reflects Your abundance and grace. Let this home be a place where Your presence is felt, where healing takes place, and where Your will is sought above all else.
Father, we also lift up the spiritual condition of these loved ones. If any of them have not surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. The Bible makes it clear in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We ask that You draw them with cords of love, that they would recognize their need for a Savior, and that they would confess Jesus as Lord. Let them experience the transforming power of Your Holy Spirit, and may their lives reflect the fruit of repentance and faith.
We declare over this family that the enemy has no foothold here. We rebuke every spirit of division, confusion, and despair in the name of Jesus. The Word tells us in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We stand in the authority of Christ, commanding every ungodly influence to leave this home and these lives. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we ask that You would surround this family with godly mentors, friends, and counselors who can speak truth and encouragement into their lives. Let them be connected to a body of believers who will walk alongside them, pray for them, and hold them accountable. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and can come boldly before Your throne. May Your will be done in this family, and may Your glory be revealed in every situation. We trust You, Lord, and we wait on You with expectation. Amen.
