We join you in compassion for this injured squirrel and we thank you for your tender heart toward one of God's creatures. It grieves us to hear she is dragging herself with her front legs and unable to use her back legs, and we understand your desire to see her healed, comforted and free from pain.
We are reminded of how much our Father cares for all He has made. Proverbs 12:10 tells us a righteous man respects the life of his animal, and Matthew 10:29 tells us not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from your Father. Luke 12:6 says not one of them is forgotten by God, and Psalm 147:9 says He provides food for the livestock. If God notices and cares for the sparrows, we know He sees this little squirrel in your backyard and He sees your kindness in asking for prayer for her.
We also want to gently share something important with you because your request did not mention Jesus. We come to God only through Jesus, and it is only by His name that we have access to the Father and can be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for our sins and rose again, so that your prayers and your life are brought to God through Him.
We lift this little squirrel up together in Jesus name.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your creation and for Your mercy that extends to all living things. We ask for Your compassion upon this injured squirrel. You see her suffering and You know her pain and her inability to walk. We pray for Your healing touch upon her body, for relief from pain, for comfort, and for strength. We ask that You would ease any fear and distress she is feeling and grant her rest. We pray she would be able to move enough to find food and water and to care for her bodily needs without suffering. If it is Your will, we pray You would restore the use of her back legs and heal what has been torn or broken. We pray for Your provision and protection over her, and we ask for wisdom for our friend who is watching over her, to know how to help in a safe and wise way, perhaps through contacting a local wildlife rehabilitator or animal care resource who can assess her without causing further harm. Let Your will be done and let Your kindness be shown through us. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to show this gentle stewardship while keeping a safe distance, as wild animals can be frightened and may bite when injured. Providing a shallow dish of water nearby and keeping pets away, and quietly contacting a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in your area for guidance, can be practical ways to show care while we continue to pray. We thank God for your compassionate heart and we pray He will comfort you as you wait on Him, trusting that He is sovereign, kind, and attentive to every creature He has made.
