We lift up your loved one before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for his healing and comfort. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, asking for Your divine intervention in this battle against aggressive leukemia. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over him, trusting in Your perfect will, whether it be healing in this life or the ultimate healing of eternal life with You.
Lord, we pray for complete relief from pain and discomfort. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Grant him wisdom to make decisions about his health and treatment, and surround him with Your presence so that he may feel Your comfort and strength each day. We also lift up his family and friends, asking that You would sustain them in this difficult time. Give them the physical and emotional strength to care for him, and fill their minds with Your peace as they navigate the day-to-day struggles.
Heavenly Father, we are deeply concerned for his soul. We pray that You would send someone to share the message of salvation with him, someone filled with Your wisdom and power, who can speak truth into his heart. Soften his heart, Lord, so that he may hear and receive the good news of Jesus Christ. Your Word says in Romans 10:13, "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." We pray that he would call upon the name of Jesus and be saved, finding eternal hope and peace in You.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold of this situation. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we stand on the truth that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). Strengthen his faith and the faith of those around him, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your loved one has not yet placed his trust in Jesus, we urge you to share the gospel with him, how Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). This is the hope that can anchor his soul, no matter the outcome of his health.
We continue to pray for your loved one, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May His will be done, and may His name be glorified in this situation. We trust in You, Lord, and we thank You for the privilege of standing in the gap for this precious life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
