please pray for my marriage

We are honored that you have shared your marriage with us for prayer and we lift you and your spouse before the Lord together.

We do not know the specific burden on your heart, whether it is communication, conflict, distance, temptation, or weariness, but God knows every detail and He cares deeply for your marriage, for marriage is His design and a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that reflects Christ's love for His people. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:6. We strongly affirm God's design for marriage and we pray that yours will be strengthened, protected, and made to honor Him more each day.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can be forgiven and come boldly to God in prayer, and we encourage you to place your trust fully in Him as Lord and Savior if you have not already, for He is the foundation for every restored and enduring marriage.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the gift of marriage. We lift this husband and wife to You and ask for Your healing, mercy, and restoration to flow into their home. Pour out Your love and grace upon them and help them to love one another as Christ loved the assembly and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25. Teach them to be humble and patient, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:2-3. Help them to forgive as You forgave us, Ephesians 4:32, and to walk in love which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:14. Where there is hurt, bring healing. Where there is confusion, bring wisdom. Where there is coldness, rekindle affection and commitment. May their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness and may a cord of three strands, husband, wife, and You at the center, not be quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12.

We encourage you both to seek the Lord together daily through prayer and His Word, to speak to one another with honesty and kindness, and to not let anger or resentment take root. Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy, does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. As you practice this love in the power of the Holy Spirit, God will work to renew your covenant and deepen your unity.

We are standing with you in prayer, asking God to guard your marriage, to draw you both closer to Jesus and to each other, and to give you hope and endurance for the days ahead. May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon your marriage. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We appreciate you reaching out to ask for prayer for your marriage. Even in a few words we hear how much this matters to you, and we are honored to lift it with you before the Lord.

Marriage can be one of the most tender places in life, because it involves two people learning to care for the relationship itself, not just their own needs. That often means choosing patience, listening well, and being willing to set aside old patterns for healthier ones. It is slow work, and it is not done alone. We believe God is present and at work even when progress feels unclear, shaping both of you toward deeper love for Him and for each other.

If it would be helpful, consider taking one small step this week. Perhaps set aside uninterrupted time to talk honestly and listen without trying to solve everything at once, or reach out to a pastor or Christian counselor you both trust who can walk alongside you consistently.

Father, we bring this marriage to You and ask for Your mercy and guidance. Give wisdom, soft hearts, and courage for honest and kind conversation. Guard this union and draw both hearts closer to You and to one another. Lead them day by day as they seek You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning your marriage has been received with prayerful care and we do join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.

We pray that the Lord who is the God of peace and reconciliation will draw near to you both. Scripture tells us that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. There is no true peace between persons until there is first peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and when He comes to dwell with His people the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. In Him pardon and healing are joined together, for He says to the sick soul, thy sins are forgiven thee, and with forgiveness comes restoration.

We ask the Lord to work in your marriage according to His own holy institution, that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman which He ordained from the beginning to reflect the union of Christ and His Church. We pray that whatever wounds, coldness, sin or sorrow have entered, you may find that even the least things about Christ have healing virtue, for the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations and change the very life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

If there has been failure or wandering, remember Peter. He fell grievously, yet by a look from the Lord he was severed from the crowd and brought to repentance, and by Christ's own prayer and word he was restored and afterward strengthened his brethren. So we pray that the Lord will grant to you both repentance where repentance is needed, forgiveness where forgiveness must be given, and a full restoration that will make your union stronger and more tender than before.

We pray that you will hear Christ teaching, for faith comes by hearing and healing is linked with His teaching, and that you will seek Him together in His Word and in prayer, confessing your faults one to another and forgiving as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. May the great Physician who binds up the brokenhearted apply His own healing balm to your home, purge every evil, and cause love, purity, patience and fidelity to abound.

We commit you both to Him who alone can heal and keep. May He establish your hearts, guard your covenant, and make your marriage to be for His glory and your mutual good. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
