Thank you for sharing this request. I am praying for you and for your marriage, and I want you to know that the Lord sees you fully. Nothing about you is hidden from Him. He sees what others cannot see, He knows your weaknesses and your needs, and He looks on you with compassion and sympathetic understanding.
Marriage is God's own design. From the beginning He showed that two become one, a deep and complete unity where two lives are joined together as one flesh. That oneness reflects something of His own nature as one God, and it is meant to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Because it is His creation, only He can truly heal it when it is wounded. Healing in this deeper sense is not something we can manufacture by our own efforts. It comes by His divine action and grace when He works among us.
As I pray for you, I am not only asking God to ease the outward struggles and painful symptoms that every marriage can face. Those things matter, and God cares about them, but the deepest need in any life or any marriage is the forgiveness of sins and a right relationship with Jesus Christ. Our greatest need is salvation, far greater than even relief from our present troubles. It is better to have every other problem and to belong to Him than to have temporary peace without Him. So I am praying first that both you and your spouse would know His forgiveness, that where sin has caused hurt there would be honest repentance, a real change of heart, and the restoration that follows true turning to Him.
Jesus spent His earthly ministry going about doing good, healing every kind of sickness and teaching us how to live with one another. He taught us to love one another, to forgive one another, to be merciful and not to strive against each other. That is the pattern for a marriage that honors Him. I pray that God would free you from any striving and fill you both with that love and mercy toward one another, that you would be quick to forgive as you have been forgiven.
Do not think that God is limited by human traditions or expectations or that He would hold back His power to heal. He is still compassionate and still able to do His gracious work. He is not distant from your pain.
My prayer for you is that the Lord, in His love, would bring His healing to your marriage, that He would forgive sin, soften hearts, grant repentance where it is needed, deepen your unity as one, and help you both to walk with Him. May He teach you to love, to forgive, and to show mercy day by day, and may He draw you both closer to Christ, who alone is the source of lasting healing and hope.
