Please pray for my lustful urges

Caden202

Servant of All
I am finally getting the urges to actually commit the act after being ### days free. Please pray for me to do the right decision. God bless you guys

We thank you for sharing this struggle so honestly and we praise God with you for the days He has already given you free from acting on these urges. We know this battle is real and we want to stand with you in prayer for strength to make the right decision in this moment of temptation.

We want to speak clearly about what Scripture says regarding lust, because God calls us not to manage lust but to flee from it. Jesus taught us that lust itself is sin in the heart when He said in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. The Apostle Paul also exhorts us in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And again in 2 Timothy 2:22 we are told to flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

We understand how urges can feel overwhelming after a period of victory, but Scripture reminds us in James 1:14-15 that each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. And the sin, when it is full grown, produces death. This is why we must not entertain the desire or linger in the thought, but turn away immediately. God in His mercy has promised in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. There is always a way of escape, and we pray you will take it.

We also want to lovingly point out that you closed by asking for God's blessing but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why this is so important, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Scripture says in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To overcome sin we must first be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, repenting of our sin and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. It is His Spirit within us who gives us power to walk in purity, as Galatians 5:16 says Walk by the Spirit, and you wont fulfill the lust of the flesh.

We want to encourage you with practical steps as you seek to walk by the Spirit. Make no provision for the flesh, remove sources of temptation from your sight and your devices, bring your struggle into the light with a trusted mature Christian brother for accountability, fill your mind daily with the Word of God, and when the urge comes, pray immediately and flee physically from the place or situation if you must. God can create in you a clean heart as David prayed in Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to You. You see the intensity of the urges he is facing right now and You know the length of the victory You have already granted him. We thank You for that victory and we ask You to strengthen him now to choose righteousness. Lord, give him eyes to see the way of escape You have provided and the courage to take it without hesitation. Fill his mind with Your truth, convict his heart where lust seeks to take hold, and empower him by Your Holy Spirit to flee sexual immorality and to pursue purity. Forgive him for every lustful thought and cleanse him by the blood of Jesus. Renew his mind and help him to present his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Lead him, if it is Your will, toward godly marriage between a man and a woman where sexual intimacy is holy and blessed, and help him to keep himself pure until then. Draw him closer to Jesus, assure him of Your forgiveness and Your power to keep him from falling, and let him know that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in him. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in prayer, stay in the Word, and reach out for godly fellowship today. God is with you and He is able to keep you standing. Romans 6:14 reminds us that sin will not have dominion over you. We are praying for your continued freedom and for your joy in walking in purity before the Lord.

Thank you for being this honest with us while the pressure is so strong. Reaching out instead of handling it alone is itself a right decision, and we want to honor the days you have walked through. It makes sense that when urges return after a stretch of freedom they can feel louder and more urgent, and we hear how much you want to choose well right now.

We have found isolation is what makes this kind of struggle hardest to carry. Having one or two trusted people who know you and can check in honestly makes a real difference, not because they can fix the urge but because you do not have to face the moment alone.

If the urge is strong right now, would you consider pausing and bringing someone in before anything else. A quick call or text to a mature brother, pastor or mentor, stepping away from the private space or device, and getting into a public place with other people can give you room to breathe and think clearly. Later when you feel stronger, it can help to clear out whatever tends to pull you back and to think through your plan for the next hard moment ahead of time, so you are not deciding in the heat of it.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we bring our brother to You and ask for Your mercy and strength in this very hour. Give him clarity, courage to reach out, and a way forward that honors You. Guard his heart and help him know he is not alone. In Jesus name, amen.

It is good that you have brought this burden into the light rather than hiding it, and that you desire to do what is right before God. To feel the pull of lust and yet to hate it and cry out for help is not the same as yielding to it. There is a time when temptation presses hard upon the soul, and the very heaviness of it may make you fear that you shall fall, yet the prayer of the humble heart is, Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil.

You are right to watch and to pray now, for purity is no small thing. Scripture warns us that when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. That is the pedigree of sin. What a man is, before long, that will he do, and therefore you are called to keep yourself unspotted from the world. This keeping requires careful self watching, not a proud confidence in the number of days you have stood, but a daily self distrust which shrinks from the conflict and looks to Christ for strength. Without Him you can do nothing, not even the least act of purity or holy restraint. Every grain of self reliance is weakness, but dependence upon the Lord is power.

Do not go into temptation while praying to be kept from it. The man who prays, Lead us not into temptation, and then willingly places himself where temptation is strong, contradicts his own prayer. Flee from it. Turn your eyes and your feet away. Fill the mind with Christ, with His word, with honest labour and prayer, and seek the help of a faithful brother to whom you may be accountable. Remember that trial and temptation may come from the same hand under Providence, yet God will with the temptation make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

We will pray for you.

Our Father in heaven, we thank Thee that this soul desires holiness and would be kept clean in Thy sight. Look upon him in mercy through Jesus Christ Thy Son, who alone is our salvation and our strength. Forgive what is past, and by Thy Holy Spirit subdue the power of lust within. Lead him not into temptation, but deliver him from evil. Withdraw him from the places and thoughts that ensnare, and keep his heart and mind unspotted. Teach him his own weakness, that he may rest wholly upon Christ who liveth and is his familiar Friend and Helper. Give him grace to choose the right, to walk in purity as Thou hast ordained, and to find in obedience not bondage but life and peace. Keep him this day and in all days to come, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Take courage, and look to Christ moment by moment. He is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this struggle so honestly and for asking for prayer. Your desire to make the right decision in this moment is itself a sign of God's grace at work in you, and we want to stand with you in it.

Scripture says there has no temptation taken you but such as man can bear, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. That promise is for you right now. This urge feels strong after so many days of faithfulness, but it is not beyond what you can bear in Christ, and it is not beyond what God can help you endure. He does not leave you alone in the trial, but gives patience and brings a way of release so that the temptation becomes bearable.

Know that you are not alone in this kind of battle. Even the great saints of old became more glorious through tribulations and temptations. Job shone more brightly in his trial, and Joseph became more approved through his testing. God allows these struggles not to crush you, but to train you, to humble you, and to make you steadfast. As you resist, you are being formed in self control and holiness.

God calls us to pursue virtue not as hirelings working only for a reward, and not as if it were a heavy burden, but with a ready mind and joy because we love what is good and we love Him. Sexual purity belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any sexual act outside of that, no matter how strong the urge feels, is not God's way for you, and it will not bring the lasting good you seek. The right decision, though difficult in the moment, is the one that honors God and protects your soul.

In this moment of strong urge, take the way of escape God provides. Turn immediately to prayer, call on the name of Jesus for help, remove yourself from the place or screen or situation that is tempting you, open Scripture, and if possible reach out to a trusted mature believer who can pray with you and keep you accountable. Do not trust your own strength alone, but trust Christ who lives in you.

We are praying for you now:

Father, we thank you for this brother who has walked in faithfulness for many days and who now feels pressed by temptation. We ask you to give him strength to endure and to see the way of escape you have promised. Guard his mind and body, fill him with your Holy Spirit, and help him to choose what is pure and right. Give him joy in pursuing virtue because he loves you, and remind him that you are faithful and will not let him be tested beyond what he can bear. Lead him away from what would harm him and draw him closer to Jesus, in whom alone we have salvation and hope. Amen.

Keep pressing on. One faithful choice at a time, God will sustain you. If the urge returns, pray again, flee again, and seek fellowship again. We are thankful for your honesty and we continue to pray that God will give you endurance, peace, and victory in Christ.
