Please pray for my job

My college is laying off more people. Please pray that the Lord will protect my job. Please also pray for my daughter to find a job. Thank you. God bless you.

We join with you in bringing these concerns before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing them with us.

We understand the anxiety that comes when layoffs are happening around you and your own livelihood feels uncertain, and also the burden you carry for your daughter as she seeks employment. We want to remind you that our security is not ultimately in an employer or an institution, but in the Lord who is our provider and our refuge. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. And we are promised My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. We also cling to the promise But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. Whatever the outcome at the college, we trust that God sees your faithfulness and He knows the plans He has for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We noticed you asked for prayer to the Lord and for God’s blessing, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently point this out because we want you to have full assurance when you pray. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by putting our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and we are reconciled to God. We encourage you to always come before the throne in the precious name of Jesus.

We pray together now for you and your daughter.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your hand of protection and provision over their job at the college. You know the uncertainty and the fear that layoffs bring, and we ask that if it is Your will, You would spare their position and allow them to continue to work there for Your glory. Help them to Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3 and to know that Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Give them peace that surpasses understanding and let them rest in Your sovereignty, knowing that even if the job is lost, You will open another door and You will not forsake them. We also lift up their daughter to You. We ask that You would guide her steps and open the right door for employment where she can use the gifts You have given her, provide for her needs, and honor You. Lead her to work that is dignified and good, and help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding Proverbs 3:5. Provide for both of them according to Your perfect wisdom and timing, and draw this whole family closer to You through this season. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to be diligent and faithful in your work, to pray daily for wisdom for your leaders at the college, and to trust the Lord with both your future and your daughter’s. Keep casting all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and keep seeking Him first. We are standing with you in prayer that God will be glorified in how He provides and sustains you both.

We hear how heavy this season feels with layoffs happening around you at the college. It is understandable to feel unsettled when the ground seems to shift at work, and to carry concern for your daughter at the same time. We want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

We are asking God to give you steadiness and wisdom in the days ahead, and to provide for both you and your daughter according to His care. While we pray for protection over your position, it can also help to take a few quiet, practical steps when you are able. If it fits, consider having a calm conversation with a trusted supervisor or mentor to understand where things stand, and keep your resume and contacts gently updated so you are prepared whatever comes. For your daughter, walking alongside her as she searches, perhaps helping her think through contacts and applications or offering encouragement after rejections, can be a real support.

You are not alone in this. We care about you and we are bringing you before the Lord.

Father, we lift up our friend and his daughter to You. You see the concerns at the college and the desire for stable work for both of them. Grant peace in the waiting, wisdom for each next decision, and provision for their needs. Guide their steps and remind them of Your nearness. In Jesus name, amen.

I notice this text appears to be a prayer or devotional message, but it doesn't contain any personal names, specific locations, or identifying information that would require redaction. The text references biblical figures like Job, but these are religious/historical references that should be preserved.

The text is already free of personal identifiers, so I'll output it as-is:

Your request has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you, remembering the word of our Saviour, Do not be anxious about your temporal affairs.

We know how trying it is when the shadow of change falls over your place of labour and when those around you are being sent away. Anxiety in such an hour is natural, yet as we have often been taught, anxiety has never brought any grist to the mill or any meal to the barrel, and the very fretfulness which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. Be prudent and diligent in all that your hand finds to do, but cast your care upon Him who cares for you, for your heavenly Father knows what you have need of.

We are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He lost much, he suffered much, yet he fell down and worshipped, and God sustained him. And again it is written, The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them, which is to show His faithfulness and to bring us into a more vivid apprehension of Himself.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou hast revealed Thyself as Jehovah, our Maker and our Keeper, and Thou hast bidden us to make our approach unto Thee in childlike confidence even when Thou seemest to frown. We thank Thee that we may come through Jesus Christ alone, in whose name is all our access and all our hope of salvation.

We lift before Thee this dear one whose college is laying off many. Thou knowest the needs of the household, the value of daily labour, and the fear that arises at such a time. We ask Thee to do as seemeth good in Thy sight. If it be Thy will, preserve this employment and grant favour in the eyes of those who decide. If Thou hast another path, make it plain and provide according to Thy riches. Keep this Thy servant from unbelieving speeches and from charging Thee foolishly, and give quietness of spirit, freedom from fretfulness, and a heart that keeps on at its own quiet pace, delighting itself in a faithful God.

We pray also for the daughter who seeks work. Thou openest Thine hand and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. Guide her steps, grant her diligence and humility in seeking, and open a door which Thou wouldest have her enter, where she may labour honestly and usefully for Thy glory. Keep her from discouragement and teach her to trust Thee who turnest captivity and givest fresh strength like the renewed bow in the hand.

Grant to both, parent and child, that whether in plenty or in want, they may say with Job, Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him, and may find that Thou art near to them that call upon Thee. Let their trials prove their faith and bring praise to Thy name.

We ask these mercies in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our provision. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
