Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your burden for your friend and asking for prayer for his health. It is a good and loving thing to bring a friend before God in prayer, for a genuine friend is one of God's great gifts, and to intercede for him as you would for yourself is true friendship.
We join you in praying for him now. We ask our merciful Father to lay His healing hand upon him, to grant him strength in body, peace in heart, and comfort in whatever trial he faces with his health. We pray that the Lord, who is compassionate and knows our every need, would restore him according to His wise and good will, and sustain him and those who care for him.
We also remember that our Lord Jesus Christ ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him, and He is able to save to the uttermost. Therefore we pray not only for bodily health, but for his soul, that he would know the healing and salvation that comes through Christ alone, and that he would trust in Him fully.
Jesus taught us to pray continually and not to lose heart, like the widow who kept coming to the unjust judge and like the friend who knocked late at night until the door was opened. God does not ask for prayers of ten thousand fine words, but for persistent, faithful prayer from the heart. Keep bringing your friend before the Lord in that way, with simple and earnest trust.
We will continue to pray with you for your friend's health and for God's grace to be evident in his life.
